March 23.  City of Dogs

Author, Ken Foster, and photographer, Traer Scott, will be at The Wallis Annenberg Pet Space to discuss their new book, “City of Dogs,” and how our amazing pooches build and bring communities together while providing a better understanding of the world around us.  They’ll be talking about dogs with dogs all around Ladies. Ruff! Ruff!

In addition to dog talk, Foster and Scott will offer anecdotes about the creative process as they collaborated on their new book City of Dogs and copies with signatures will be available for purchase at this event. “In City of Dogs” author Ken Foster and photographer Traer Scott explore the boroughs and their neighborhoods and profile, in words and pictures, 40 human/ canine families…While some are well known, most are celebrities only to the dogs who love them. The charm of this book, in large part is the heartfelt connections captured on its pages with dogs. A true gem: an inspired portrait of life in the city with dogs, and how dogs make those lives better than they might otherwise be.” –The Bark Magazine.  Get tickets.

April 5 -7.  Mojo Women’s Weekend Special Offer

Deborah Kagan’s “Rock Your MOJO Women’s Weekend” was transformative for me.  Deborah has amazing energy and is simply one of the very best facilitators for inspiring women to feel comfortable in their own skin and embracing their inner power/mojo. Now, Deborah is giving Tomatoes a special jaw-dropping discount deal (hint: $500 off reg price) for her upcoming “Rock Your Mojo Weekend LA” in April! Now that ROCKS!  Get the details.

Wildflowers Galore

Our area has suffered a lot this past year at the hand of Nature.  During and after the horrific hot temps, powerful winds and nightmarish wildfires, it was hard to imagine hills shining with heavenly green and the emergence of another exquisite Super Bloom.  And then Nature gave us rain with a kind embrace, and all is beautiful again.  I’ll give you the skinny on having an amazing time hangin’ with the flowers, Tomatoes.

Sometimes I let others deal with the heavy lifting and so I am sharing with you “Time Out” list of “Where to See Southern California’s Wildflowers”.  I give them all the credit for compiling this prolific list that covers all corners of So Cal.

And when it comes to Poppies, I’m here to tell you there is no better place to get your weekly updated info Tomatoes than the Theodore Payne Wildflower Hotline

Joe Spanos’ recorded message is not only current and updated each Friday but sounds more like soothing and beautiful poetry than just a list, ladies.  Truly. Nothing like a wonderfully talented award-winning actor to give you the latest insights on the blooms surrounding us.

March 29. Herstory: Womyn’s Art

In honor of Women’s History Month and all the incredible women who had a positive impact and influence on our herstory, Artfonfa is presenting “HERSTORY: Womyn’s Art Exhibition” showcasing women visual and performing artists from all mediums.  And a few surprises too Tomatoes.

Tomatoes can expect women owned business vendors so you can shop, as well, Ladies.  50% of event proceeds will be donated to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA). Debbie Allen, one of the most influential and talented figures in the entertainment industry, created this incredible non-profit organization to provide a comprehensive dance curriculum to students ages 4+. Love that!

Till March 30. Touch Exhibition

Feel like having the ultimate tactile sensory experience Tomatoes?  Well, the Hands-On Touch Exhibition, will give you just that with 100 objects and symbols to touch as much as you want Tomatoes.  Does that peak your curiosity?

It’s the first and only of its kind Tomatoes. The audience experiences objects and symbols completely through the sense of touch, activating a different kind of awareness of the world. Complemented by supporting visual elements and music, the artwork at 100 Tactile in West Hollywood consists of 100 individual pieces, divided into three sections: daily objects, materials and texture, and text and symbols.  Sounds fascinating.
