Doing Good! Women Build

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

With the anniversary of 9-11 just passed and the excellent initiative, 911 Day making each September 11th a day to do one good deed, I thought it most fitting to write about a wonderful group of women who are doing a terrific good deed with Women Build.

Women Build, a program from Habitat for Humanity, brings together teams of women to build houses for low-income families in New York City.

The woman I met who told me about this effort is Nicky Pattison. Nicky and her team, called The Bricks and Sticks Chicks (cute name!) are a group of lovely ladies in the process of raising funds to support the effort. Women Build hopes to raise $250,000 to help build affordable housing in New York City.

Doing good. Women build.

Nicky and The Bricks and Sticks Chicks are doing a tremendous good deed, and we can help them, Women Build and Habitat for Humanity in this wonderful and needed service.
