Give Girls a Chance!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Dear Tomatoes,

be inspired

Have you ever heard that saying, “Come to me with a solution, not with a problem?” Well, today I’m coming to you today with a solution, and a way that you can make a difference for countless adolescent girls around the world.

I’m sure you’d be enraged to know that many adolescent girls in developing countries – just because they are girls – are married off or sold into slavery. They are less likely than boys to go to school, and are more likely to be malnourished, become victims of violence, or have children before they are ready.

Girls everywhere should be able to create their own futures. And do you know what the key is? Its education.

Educated girls marry later, have fewer children, have healthier children, earn more, and invest more in their families and communities.

Through Plan International USA’s Because I am a Girl campaign (BIAAG), you can give a girl the education she deserves. You can end the year by helping girls around the world who fight for survival every day. Girls who struggle to learn and grow against all odds. Girls who need just a little help to make it in a complicated world.

It can be done, but we need your help. I am part of a group of committed women who are on a mission to raise $100,000 for Because I am a Girl. Won’t you be part of this important cause?

Your gift of:

  • $100 can help an adolescent girl attend secondary school
  • $500 can send a girl to school for an entire year
  • $2,500 can send five girls to school for a full year
  • Or choose any amount that is meaningful to you!

Why should you contribute to Plan’s Because I am a Girl campaign? Because Plan is one of the most effective global organizations, with programs that stand the test of time. Their child-centered focus ensures young voices are heard so that program are appropriate, achievable, and sustainable.

You or someone you love is or was a girl. Imagine her without the means, health, freedom, or support to thrive and survive. Imagine her leaving school before she could read or write. Imagine that she never got to go to school at all.

Please consider making a gift in her honor today. When you do, you’ll make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

Every little bit helps and every gift is valued.  You can send an adolescent girl to school so she can learn, lead, decide, and thrive.

Thank you so much for your partnership in this important work.

Cheers,

Cheryl Benton
