I love this video ladies! Los Angeles welcomes everyone to our wonderful city and we are welcoming my dear like-a-sister friend and partner, Cheryl Benton (Head Tomato) to LA this weekend and we’ve got one heck of a great party planned and the weather is going to be great! If you are looking for a new best friend, you can definitely find unconditional love in a doggie or kitty at the “NKLA Super Adoption.” The “California Strawberry Festival” is a berry perfect way to kick off your summer.  And FREE + 1 day + 6 museums = “MOTA Day” this Sunday. Got all that Tomatoes?! We love all these events, but we are particularly partial to “The Three Tomatoes Hats & Flats Book Signing Garden Party” this Sunday at 2pm. Hint…hint.


LA LIFE: Garden Party, Best Friends, Strawberries, FREE MuseumsThe Head Tomato is heading to Los Angeles to celebrate her novel, Can You See Us Now?  And you can enjoy a lovely afternoon in Lady Deborah’s (aka Debbie Zipp) Chatsworth Garden with music, tasty bites, delish refreshments, good company, a “Best Hat Contest” and a program of selected excerpts from Cheryl’s booked performed by the esteemed actresses Molly Cheek, Robin Dearden, Pat Lentz, Nancy Linari and Penny Peyser. It will be a fun and entertaining celebration of women and their enduring friendships According to Lady Deborah’s hand maiden, hats and flats are best suited for ladies in this home garden. May 19 and 20.  NKLA Super Adoption

You will find a loyal best friend at the “NKLA Super Adoption” this Saturday and Sunday at Warner Park Woodland HIlls. A sweet companion who will love you even if your breath smells like dirty laundry on a very bad hair day. You’ll meet over 1,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption from more than 50 LA rescues and shelters. The perfect pet is waiting for you Tomatoes!

The NKLA Super Adoption Event is hosted by Best Friends Animal Society and presented by BOBS from SKECHERS®, the event is one of six Best Friends super adoptions held throughout the country. Pets will be available from Los Angeles Animal Services, the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center, and dozens of other local rescues and shelters. Adopters can receive complimentary pet-friendly items from event sponsors such as Nature’s Variety Instinct, Petplan, Petco Foundation, Cuteness, and Pet Food Express. Can’t adopt, that’s okay, just spread the word Tomatoes because this is a fun family event with entertainment, pet-related vendors, food trucks such as Richeeze, Sidecar Donuts, and Main Squeeze Lemonade, celebrity appearances, and more. MAY 19 & 20.  Strawberry Festival

LA LIFE: Garden Party, Best Friends, Strawberries, FREE MuseumsIf you feel like a drive up the coast you don’t have to go too far to have berry good time (tee hee) at The Annual California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard for a weekend berry bash with a massive array of strawberries fresh from local farms. 50+ food booths will be serving traditional and surprising berry delicious treats and 200+ Fine Arts and Craft exhibitors will be on hand What else could a berry lover wish for… strawberry wine perhaps?! They got that too gals!

And “Strawberryland” is just what the doctor ordered for the kiddos. If you are worried about parking there are free park ’n ride shuttles that drop you off right at the gate and you’ll save on parking . Then you have extra cash to indulge and go berry wild tomatoes.  The CA Strawberry festival gives back in a myriad of ways gals, including college scholarships for children of strawberry field workers. So, ladies when you go to this festival you know that you are helping to give back to the Oxnard community.


May 20. FREE MUSEUMS of ARROYO DAY

LA LIFE: Garden Party, Best Friends, Strawberries, FREE MuseumsThe Arroyo Seco area of Pasadena and Los Angeles has a diverse mix of art, architecture and history as well as a variety of flora and fauna. The 29th annual “Free Museums of the Arroyo Day” includes 6 wonderful historic museums that will open their doors to the public for a free day of special events, family fun & cultural happenings! AND you can explore all the MOTA museums with free connecting shuttles. I like them apples, Tomatoes.

The ‘Museums of the Arroyo” include The Gamble House, Heritage Square, the Los Angeles Police Museum, the Lummis Home and Garden, the Pasadena Museum of History, and The Autry’s Historic Southwest Museum Mt. Washington Campus. You can visit one or if you are so inclined you can squeeze them all in without it costing a dime. Ta Da!!
