Ballet Lovers Will Love The Red Shoes

NYC LIFE: Art Exhibit, Holiday Fun, Ballet, Film FestivalA tale of passion and obsession, Matthew Bourne’s stylish and audacious new ballet The Red Shoes was exalted as “a feast for the eyes” by The Guardian, while The Daily Telegraph praised its magical qualities, declaring it “blissful.” Bourne’s thrilling adaptation of the Oscar-winning 1948 film (which was itself based on a tale by Hans Christian Andersen) is the story of a ballerina forced to choose between an affair of the heart and her rapturous love of dance. Featuring music written by composer Bernard Hermann for Citizen Kane and three other classic films, you won’t want to miss The Red Shoes when it comes to New York City Center. Get discount tickets via Goldstar.
