The holidays are over, but the fun abounds. Come celebrate the New Year with us on January 17th – chocolates, martinis, a beautiful rooftop, music and fun! There’s a new museum in town and this one is for the dogs. Hurry Tomatoes. Reservations and tickets for Restaurant Week and 2-for-1 Broadway week open on January 9th!  Winter Jazzfest has arrived. Cabaret is in full swing. Valerie Smaldone says…..And what better way to spend a cold winter’s day than afternoon tea at the Plaza! And we’re looking for talented Tomatoes for our next Tomatoes Got Talent Show. And you thought winter was boring?


January 17. Martinis, Food,Chocolates and Music on a Rooftop

Darlings, join us on a beautiful rooftop in NYC to celebrate the publication of our book, “Martini Wisdom.” We’ll have yummy food, chocolate martinis, wine from “Middle Sisters,” chocolate tastings from “MarieBelle,” pithy readings from the “martini ladies,” Paul Chamlin tickling the ivories, and some of our favorite chanteuses, including Randie Levine Miller, Merrill Stone and Karen Nason. Oh, and the first 10 people who sign up will get a copy of the book. Jan. 4-12.  Winter Jazzfest

If you’re a jazz lover, it’s that most wonderful time of the year. NYC’s largest jazz festival is back for its 15th year and it’s bigger than ever. There’s a two-day marathon on Jan. 11-12 featuring over 100 artists in 11 venues) and through the 8 days festival you will find fabulous performances all around town.

The festival will include a British jazz showcase, a 50th-anniversary celebration of ECM Records, the festival’s artist in residence, playing the music of Prince. Ndegeocello will also participate in at least one of the talks put on by Winter Jazzfest, helmed by critic Nate Chinen of WBGO.  Get the full lineup and tickets.



Jan. 15. AKC Museum of the Dog Opens in NYC

Opens January 2019. The AKC Museum of the Dog has built one of the largest repositories of canine-related art in the world. For the past 30 years, this collection has been cared for and displayed at its former home outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Now the Museum of the Dog is returning to New York City, home of the AKC headquarters and where the museum first took root. This move provides an opportune moment for the museum to reimagine itself and present its treasures to a far larger audience in one of the greatest cultural capitals in the world.
