Oct. 7-Oct. 16. New York Film Festival

NYC Life: Films, Wine & Food, Comedy & Cabaret
The New York Film Festival is back and it’s a great chance to see classics, documentaries, and full-length feature films by the world’s great filmmakers.  One film that caught our attention is a documentary, Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, an affectionate, often hilarious and unexpectedly moving valentine to the mother-daughter act to end all mother-daughter acts.  Carrie Fisher will be at the Oct. 10th screening. Oct. 13-16.  NYC Wine and Food FestivalNYC Life: Films, Wine & Food, Comedy & Cabaret

This star-studded, four-day event showcases the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs, culinary personalities and America’s most beloved television chefs while fighting to end hunger.  It’s the largest food an
d wine festival in New York City with more than 100 events, and includes tastings, intimate dinners with world-renowned chefs, late night parties, hands-on classes, educational seminars, coveted wine tastings and more.  Get the details.


Oct. 18.  Attention Stand-up Comic Aspirees!

We love Leighann Lord’s smart, witty humor, and are thrilled to hear that she is leading a Master Class in stand-up comedy at the Apollo Theater. She will lead this three- hour intensive workshop on stand-up comedy which will cover creating and selecting material, delivery and stage presence.  Okay funny tomatoes, this is your change.  Get the details.


Oct. 18-22.  Lainie Kazan at the Iridium

NYC Life: Films, Wine & Food, Comedy & Cabaret

The incomparable Lainie Kazan will be making her first New York appearances in a few years – and her first major appearance anywhere since the release of her acclaimed role in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.” Lainie will be performing at the Iridium, October 18th thru October 22nd.  She has had a wonderful and varied career in film, television, theatre and music (she even ran the Playboy Clubs nightspots with Hugh Hefner). Get tickets.
