Fabulous foodie event to support women with breast and ovarian cancer in September!

I am proud to once again let you know about a truly super event that takes place in New York every September. This event features amazing female chefs and their delectable creations, and sous-chefs celebrities from the worlds of performance, media, and writing, all gathered with the mission to raise funds for the support organization, SHARE. SHARE provides excellent programs for women with breast and ovarian cancer and their families. What is outstanding about SHARE is that they offer unique services free of charge to over 60,000 women and their loved ones every year.

Dubbed A Second Helping of Life, it is a lively event in a most beautiful setting. As you stroll around the various stations manned (or womanned) by world class chefs and celebrities, tasting dishes and sipping wines, the view is stunning. This  annual fundraiser takes place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers, with a glorious view of the Hudson River, boats cruising by, and finally a serene sunset.

Past participating chefs include April Bloomfield of The Spotted Pig, Amanda Cohen of Dirt Candy, Patti Jackson of Delaware and Hudson and Alex Guarnaschelli of Butter and Chopped. This year, over a dozen of New York City’s best female chefs will offer delicious preparations of their restaurants’ signature dishes.

A Second Helping of Life will be hosted by Tamsen Fadal of PIX11 News.

I always look forward to being a sous-chef at this wonderful, important and fun event. Please join us, Monday, Sept. 18 for the VIP reception beginning at 6:00 PM and the tasting at 7 PM.
