SF LIFE: Half Moon Bay Happenings & Labyrinth Yoga
Hooray, it’s beach weather! I recently visited Half Moon Bay (forgot my pail and shovel though) and feel the need to share this glorious location on the water. If you are a lover of yoga or Grace Cathedral, a visit to yoga on the Labyrinth is a must.
Half Moon Bay Is Happening
I recently celebrated 26 years with the same Mr. Tomato and I just had to tell you about our mini adventure to celebrate in lovely Half Moon Bay. After a somewhat traffic clogged trip over the highway, we bee lined it to The Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. A cocktail overlooking the ocean and golf course, sitting in front of a fire pit if you are lucky, is a grand way to begin a celebratory evening. If you tell them you are going to the beach, you can park for free in their garage (shhhh), otherwise it’s valet for you. This spot is a true “getaway from it all” experience.
After a small glass of bubbly, we headed north to Montara to the delicious Peruvian spot on the ocean, La Costanera. We had a table by the enormous glass window overlooking the Pacific. Yummy seafood paella and ceviche are specialties, but there is no shortage for meat lovers.
For an after dinner coffee and sweet treats we drove south to Main Street where we landed at Café Society. This adorable Espresso Bar serves up tasty, healthy food and treats and on Friday evenings they now serve up Live Jazz. Quaint, delightful, toe tapping….perfect end to an anniversary.
Yoga On the Labyrinth
Namaste tomatoes! Grab your mat and head to Grace Cathedral any Tuesday night at 6:15 and you and up to 600 other yoginis will get your chakras aligned in this magnificent church. Regardless of your beliefs or faith, downward facing dog where you check out the towering magnificence of stained glass windows is a moving experience. This is a true community with friendly people and live music from didgeridoos and harps to singing bowls and chanting. Gentle yoga is how it is described, but don’t worry no one is looking at you; the views are much too inspiring.
