If your bathroom looks like ours, you have various brands of shampoos, some that contain ingredients that make them sound more than smoothies than shampoos. So what’s the deal? Should you switch shampoos on a regular basis? Are botanicals and other natural ingredients helpful for your help? We’ve got these answers today and more.
I have so many different brands of shampoo in my bathroom. Should I use the same brand on my hair every day or should I alternate them?
Its fine to use the same shampoo day after day, as long as you are using the correct shampoo for your hair type. Try using a clarifying shampoo periodically to eliminate any build up.
What are the benefits of natural sources, such as botanicals, eggs, honey, aloe vera, etc, in shampoo?
Natural source botanicals add proteins and conditioning agents to shampoo. They may be derived from plant and vegetable extracts or other sources. The benefit to the hair is that they contain proteins and moisture in a natural state and could be an alternative to those with a sensitive scalp.
I love using styling products such as mouse and gel to give my hair body but I don’t think my hair is getting rid of all that build up. What should I do?
Use a gentle cleansing shampoo routinely, once or twice a week. Depending on the build-up, use a deep cleanser or clarifying shampoo. A clarifying shampoo, that contains more detergent than an everyday shampoo, is designed to lightly strip the hair. It usually has a higher pH level too. Use only as needed and follow with a conditioner.
