Tomorrow morning the Audubon Society is hosting a Bird Walk with a very special guest.  It’s a bevy of beauties with brilliant minds and inspirational messages at the next “First Tuesday” event.  The “LAMAG Juried Exhibition” introduces us to the new and next generation of remarkable artists at the Barnsdall Park Gallery.  Firefighters are our real live heroes and you can help support them by attending the delish “Taste of Farmers Market” event. And there is a very special hidden garden with new extended hours just waiting for you Tomatoes to stroll through.

July 21. Birdie Walk

Bird loving Tomatoes will be tickled pink that Noah Strycker, World Record Birder, author of the award winning “Birding Without Borders,” Associate Editor of Birding Magazine and so much more will be leading the Bird Walk in Franklin Canyon at Sooky Goldman Nature Center.  Be in Franklin Canyon tomorrow morning to walk with a top expert Tomatoes!

Noah Strycker is a 32-year-old writer, photographer, and bird man based in Oregon. In 2015, during a quest spanning 41 countries and all seven continents, he set a world record by seeing 6,042 species of birds – more than half the birds on Earth – in one year. Holy Moly Tomatoes!

July 21. Japanese Garden

This gem, The Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden, was restored and reopened for community use in 2016 and now they have extended their hours open to the public. Yahoo! The only remaining Los Angeles Japanese garden designed by Kinzuchi Fujii in 1927, is now open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and the Second and Last Sundays of the month. Aren’t we lucky ladies?

Inspired by their love of Japanese Design the owners of this private hidden away estate hired Kinzuchi Fujii to build their own private heavenly Japanese garden. The garden came close to destruction, but the son just couldn’t sell out. The Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Thank goodness. Now it is an enduring gift of history, beauty and serenity to all of us that stroll through it. That’s us, Tomatoes!  PS: You can also enjoy the wonderful “Pigment Silk Exhibition”.

July 24. Taste of Farmers Market

“Taste of Farmers Market” returns to the original FM for their 10th year with this event from 5 to 9pm presenting more than 50 restaurants, grocers, and eateries. And amazing local firefighter chefs will be preparing firehouse chili tastes just for you gals! Yum Yum!

There’s even more reason to be fired up about this event, you hot Tomatoes you, because again this year the event supports “First-In Fire Foundation” and the brave firefighters of Station61 & 58. It’s a great time to experience the original Farmers Market.

The foundations mission is devoted to friend-raising and fund-raising for the Fire Service and the Fire Department, its firefighters, services, and programs including the Fire Department’s Adopt a Fire Station Program, Fire Safety Education, CERT and Emergency Preparedness, including Pet Preparedness. No fire station is left behind tomatoes.

July 24. Mojo Time at First Tuesday

Marcy Cole is calling all Fab Tomatoes to join her and other terrific women at the next First Tuesday event.  It’s a fun & informative girl’s night out with a panel of amazing women experts Tomatoes.

The guest speakers for the evening are Mojo Recovery Specialist Debra Kagan (I’m a huge fan of Debra), Makeup and Hair Stylist Vivienne Somers, Jacquie Somerville the Founder of the School of Feminine Magnetism, Beauty Restorer, Dr. Madhuri Chada and Body Liberator and Menopause Reset Expert Bonnie Gayle. July 26-September 16.  LAMAG Juried Exhibition

Los Angeles has a wonderful pool of artistic talent and the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG) is shining a bright light on the best of the next generation of artists with their “Juried Group Exhibition”. Attending the opening reception for this remarkable exhibition this Sunday July 22nd, including very special performances, might tickle your fancy too Tomatoes.

LAMAG is one of the few remaining municipal art galleries in the country, so they deserve our support for the great work they do Tomatoes.

Established in 1954, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG) is the longest-running institution in Los Angeles devoted solely to exhibiting art. The gallery’s exhibitions, educational and public programs aim to inspire conversation about contemporary issues. LAMAG is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. The 2018 edition of the juried exhibition builds on the legacy of this pioneering exhibition, which historically has provided a platform for emerging artists in Southern California for 60 years. Wow!
