They say that without the Los Angeles River, Los Angeles wouldn’t exist. So, through contemporary art works, documentary films, and historic materials, the Sturt Haaga Gallery in Descanso Gardens presents their new exhibit “La Reina de Los Angeles.” A fabulous way for Tomatoes to examine LA’s relationship with water and the vitally important LA River.
This group show of accomplished artists, “La Reina de Los Angeles”, and curated by Debra Scacco will explore the history, infrastructure and community around the LA River. Did you know the LA River has changed course at least 9 times Tomatoes? Wow!
Till December 22. Wild Adventures
Our Los Angeles Zoo is finally making one of my dreams come true with the new “Wild Adventures Behind the Scenes Tours.”Hip, Hip, Hooray Tomatoes! How do you care for 1,400 animals with 270 species? I’ve got no clue, but you can now get the inside story with a variety of Wild Adventure Tours. Dreams do come true Tomatoes.
Just pick one or two or more tours that interests you the most. You can learn how they care for so many animals that call the zoo home, how they prepare the food and design the perfect habitat for each species. You can also join the Animal Care staff to experience how they care for the Zoo’s most interesting and important animal residents with the “Keys to the Zoo” tour.
Oct 5. All Space Considered
On the first Friday of every month, the Griffith Park Observatory offers an exciting FREE public program, “All Space Considered” in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon. That means you Tomatoes.
Keep in mind the seating is first come first serve to this marvelous opportunity every month to join the Observatory’s curatorial stuff when they examine and explain the most popular subjects in astronomy and science. The next one up is Friday October 5. Don’t be late Tomatoes.
