November 3. Joan Ryan
Joan Ryan, winner of Broadway World’s Top Cabaret Artist Award, is a Tomato that rocks in every way. Now you can see her in all her fab performing glory and be blown away by her 4-octave vocal range in “An Evening with Joan Ryan” at Vitello’s. Broadway World says she is “Magnificent”! Wow!
Broadway World says; “Ryan is like a master class in singing: Truly magnificent… her dynamics deserve to be shared with the world… If you get the chance to see her perform anywhere, anytime – take it”! There you have it Tomatoes. Need I say more? Don’t miss experiencing Joan Ryan’s dynamic, funny and poignant award-winning one-woman show straight from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
November 4. Woofstock
You just gotta love the name. Certainly, an attention getter and better yet “Woofstock” is a FREE and exciting, day-long festival for dogs and their owners. This annual pet extravaganza features pet adoptions, pet parade, contests, pet-related goods and services, entertainment, food trucks and fun for the whole family. I don’t think it gets any more adorbs or family friendly than that Tomatoes.
There will be over 40 pet-related vendors and specialty booths, including the Pet Parade Costume Contest; Pet Talent Show; Zoom Room Agility Demonstrations and Disc Dogs Pet Show. The Pet Care Foundation will have pets available for adoption. Food Trucks, activities and so much for everyone!
November 3 & 4. Celebration of Turkeys
OMG! It’s a celebration of Turkeys at the beloved Farm Sanctuary with “The Celebrations of the Turkey” event. This is very close to my vegetarian heart. “The Celebrations of the Turkey” at the beloved “Farm Sanctuary” is filled with fun Tomatoes! Turkeys Rule!
I love the thought of spending quality time interacting with the cows, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, and pigs and watching our turkeys indulge in a delicious feast of pumpkin pie, cranberries, and salad while knowing they will never end up on a dinner table. And that’s just the beginning of activities to enjoy. The Farm Sanctuary’s 26-acre Southern California Shelter is located on a beautiful hacienda ranch in Acton, just 45 minutes from Hollywood. In addition to providing shelter for approximately 100 animals, this Southern California Shelter offers one-hour guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays and group tours are available by appointment.
November 6. Griffith Park Harvest Festival
Head to the Griffith Park Merry Go Round, Tomatoes, to be merry and enjoy autumn in all its glory at the “Second Annual Harvest Festival” at LA’s largest and most amazing park, Griffith Park. Yeah summer is indeed over so it is time to celebrate the changing of the seasons gals.
“The Harvest Festival” at Griffith Park is co-hosted by the Los Angeles Parks Foundation and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Park. Enjoy a day in the park with live music, food, local craft beer, games, a climbing rock wall and lots of other fun autumn activities. Admission is FREE Tomatoes and the proceeds go to benefit all our lovely parks! Woo Hoo!
November 2-4. Beverly Center Grand Reveal
It’s new, it’s grand and it’s big Tomatoes. The Beverly Center is finally unveiling its new fab look to the public in its “Grand Reveal” this weekend. 3 days jam- packed with fashion, food, celebrities, music, panels and lots of special offers at the new Beverly Center. And parking is FREE!
Did you know The Beverly Center, which opened in 1982, replaced a small old amusement park on the site. There’s also a reason for the mall’s vaulted structure… there’s oil underneath the mall, and the structure of the center allows for an enclosure for active oil wells underneath a portion of the property. It was also home to the first U.S. location of the “Hard Rock Café”. There’s been some changes over the years, but this redo is the biggest. Celebrate the revamped Beverly Center by shopping, meeting the makers, toasting the tastemakers, and exploring the creative spirit of LA in this unique destination. They are kicking off the weekend TONIGHT with The Hollywood Reporters amazing panel featuring film’s top costume designers in the industry including Alexandra Byrne of “Mary Queen of Scots”, Erin Benach of “A Star is Born ”, Ruth Carter of “Black Panther”, Julian Day of “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and Sandy Powell of “Mary Poppins Returns”. How cool is that and that is only the start Tomatoes! Save your spot for the weekend now and RSVP.
