It was a really spectacular red carpet this year. Colors abounded, sequins made a huge comeback, white is the new black, and black and white added drama. Here were some of our favorites, and out TOP pick of the evening. But even with the top designers and stylists at their beck and call, there were still some high-profile misses. Tell us what you think. (Note: hover over the images for captions.

Danai Gurira was just breathtaking. This color is so perfect for her and the gown is rich, and elegant. We give the #1 gown of the evening.
Lady gaga was every inch the star. And we loved that her hair matched the gown. Only Gaga could pull this off.
Lupita Nyong’o looked abslutely stunning. Love this color on her.
Nicole Kidman is simply stunning once again. We loved how her husband couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Regina King also carried off the sparkly body hugging look to perfection.
Carol Burnett looked absolutely beautiful in this classy look for a classy lady.
We love Emily Blunt’s lace gown – very sexy without having to bare boobs, like too many of the stars.
Thandie Newton is classy sexy.
Debra Messing pulled off this beautiful grey sparkling gown beautifully.
Rachel Brosnahan was pure Mrs. Maisel in the bright yellow retro gown.
THE LADIES IN WHITE AND BLACK & WHITE
Amber Heard looked beautiful in black and white, and love that the gown has pockets.
Kaley Cuoco rocked a similar look with a navy blue top, black sash and white skirt with pockets too.
Jamie Lee Curtis’s hair matches her white dress.. Gorgeous.
Judith Light looked beautiful in white too.
THE MISSSES

Constance Wu would have been perfect but the bustier doesn’t work.
Julia Roberts would look great in a napsack, which might have looked better than this.
Elisabeth Moss would have looked better with the rest of the dress.
Glenn Close was so gracious winning best actress and we loved her speech. But what the heck is she wearing?
