May 19.  Visit the Gottlieb Native Garden

LA LIFE: Party Time, Beethoven, Festival, Gardens, Museums

The Gottlieb Native Garden is a flourishing urban oasis and native plant ecosystem in the heart of Beverly Hills.  It’s no wonder The Theodore Payne Foundation has created this special event “The Gottlieb Native Garden Experience”  so the public can see the beauty of a native garden landscape.

And learn about the ecological benefits of going native.  The Gottlieb’s 1-acre backyard garden is a chaparral woodland with more than 200 native hand-selected plant species, some over 25 years old and 400 hundred documented wildlife species with a running stream and a very fine succulent collection.  I do love succulents!  It is one of the most renowned native gardens in California and has the special distinction of being both a National Wildlife Federation Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat and a Xerces Society designated Pollinator Habitat. On Sunday you can meet the owners-creators the Gottliebs and wildlife expert Scott Logan.  I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to meet these philanthropic environmentalists and hang in this exquisite home garden. Enjoy Tomatoes
