Huntington Dog Beach
There’s no place like a dog beach and The Huntington Dog Beach is a paradise for all with the breathtaking views, the golden sands and the one mile expansive stretch of beach where dogs can run, swim and play to their hearts delight. It is a place where joy abounds, Tomatoes. And our Grand Dog Bruce Nugget enjoyed the heck out of it.
My hubby, Mr. Tomato, and I were so excited to discover Huntington Dog Beach which is supported by the Preservation Society of Huntington Dog Beach, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and solely supported by private donations. My daughter lives in Long Beach and had recently found this unique and beautiful dog beach. It is oh so expansive, always clean because of the wonderful volunteers, supporters and mostly responsible dog owners, has free pop bag stations, doggie water fountains, and complimentary tennis balls in a basket by the entrance. If you love dog beaches or just love watching dogs on the beach we found this beach well worth the drive, Tomatoes.

February 6 – March 1. The Manor
“The Manor” a theatrical production of drama and mystery is presented by Theatre 40 and The Doheny Greystone Mansion and Gardens. “The Manor” follows actors through the inside of the grand landmark of Doheny Greystone Mansion where the murder and madness of the true events actually took place. Oh my! Sounds like an absolute blast, Tomatoes. Reserve ASAP because several performances are already sold out.
“The Manor” is fictionalized re-enactment of real-life events surrounding the Doheny family and the history of the Doheny Greystone Mansion. It tells the story of the triumphs and travails of the prominent MacAlister family during the 1920s as they ride the tide of good fortune. Spurred by legends of ghostly wanderings, costumed performers inhabit the Mansion’s opulent rooms and roam its cavernous, echoing hallways to weave a tale that begins euphorically with the promise of a splendid future, but an involvement in a political scandal sparks a downward spiral that ends in a senseless tragedy. This theatre event has been an annual event at the mansion for 18 years and is extremely popular. I’m sure you can imagine that an evening at the stunning Greystone, with its incredible views are magical but add “The Manor” to the mix, Tomatoes, and you have a spectacular evening in store.
