The fleet is not coming to town this year, but we hope you take a moment this weekend to recognize all of our service men and women. If you’re missing ships, you can tour tall ship at the South Street Seaport. Our roving photographer has captured some fab photos from “The Green” at Lincoln Center. Ready for the movies? Check out our suggestions. There’s a great pop-up rug sale happening. Get free online access to Open Arts for live Broadway performances and more. For more entertainment our Broadway Babe as her YouTube picks today. Valerie Smaldone has the scoop on live Broadway at Tavern on the Green. And join us for a powerful ZOOM event.

Free Movies on the Intrepid

Summer movies on back on the deck of the USS Intrepid as it does double duty as an open-air theater for this free summer film series on Fridays throughout the summer. Masks are required. Doors open at 7:30 and movies start at sunset. Check out their web site for upcoming movie schedules.

Ready for a Movie Theater Experience?

We’re heading to a movie for the first time in well over a year to see the much anticipated “Cruella,” which stars Emma Stone and Emma Thompson. Set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. Popcorn and movies, bring it on. (PS…it’s also on Disney Plus.)

She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

Enjoy the Green

Nicole Freezer Rubens, our roving photographer and author of The Long Pause and the Short Breath, has stunning gimages from The Green at Lincoln Center. The renowned Josie Robertson Plaza has been covered in 14,000 square feet of soft faux grass. The concept is that in lieu of hard concrete visitors can sit anywhere and relax. Restart Stages is hosting pop-up performances and gourmet snacks. This public art installation is up for the summer. Come and sit without getting grass stains on your white jeans!
