Make sure to stroll through Rockefeller Center To mark Mexico’s 200th year of independence, Mexico Week has made its way back to Rockefeller Center after nearly 60 years. The unique exhibit displays some of the best of Mexico’s heritage in the heart of Manhattan.” The event features a series of large-scale activations to commemorate Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday that pays respects to relatives and friends who have passed away. A Visit to Barney Greengrass
Our roving photographer Nicole Freezer Rubens says, “There’s nothing like checking something off of my NYC bucket list and eating a toasted bagel with nova and cream cheese at Barney Greengrass has now been checked off! Entering the store and restaurant takes me back to an old world.”
It was established in 1908 on 113th and St. Nicholas in Harlem as a specialty shop for appetizing and deli. In 1929 it moved to 86th and Amsterdam on the Upper West Side where it remains virtually untouched today. It has been lovingly sustained by 3 generations of the Greengrass family and is best known as The Sturgeon King. They have ventured into the modern world selling food online as so many people say there is no better to be had.
Bryant Park’s Winter Village is Open
It officially opened yesterday. The holiday shops are back, and the ice-skating rink is officially opened along with a rinkside open air, après skate-escape. Cozy up with a festive cocktail, enjoy delicious food, and watch the ice skaters. The ice skating is free, you just pay to rent skates, or bring your own. ‘tis the season has officially arrived. Princess Diana Exhibit Opens in January
For the first time, world famous Royal Photographers, Anwar Hussein and his two sons Zak and Samir, will share collections of their original images and the intimate, never-before-told stories behind them.
The Husseins collectively spent four decades working side by side with the iconic Princess and her family and will reveal what they witnessed first-hand, both in public and private moments. Tickets are now on sale.
