Broadway Babe’s Picks

Our Broadway Babe has some classic picks today. There’s Mickey Rooney in a stage performance of The Wizard of Oz. And Burt Reynolds interviewing some of movie stars of old, including Jane Powell. And check out the photo of Randie’s mother above with Jane Powell. And there are some fab clips of a British version of Funny Girl, starring Sheridan Smith. and Randie’s Funny Girl commentary. Enjoy!  Watch now.

Roving on Arthur Avenue

Our roving photographer, Nicole Freezer Rubens, writes: “ I always love going to Arthur Avenue in the Belmont section of the Bronx, also known as the Little Italy of the Bronx. Italian immigrants settled there in the 1850’s and and their village-like community is still vibrant and thriving today. The streets are populated with family run shops including butchers, bakers, restaurants and grocery stores. History and culture permeate the scene, which I imagine has not changed that much in over 150 years.

I had the absolute best rainbow cookie ever from Morrone Pastry Shop & Cafe. Please put it on your Arthur Avenue list!
