August 9 – 14. Menlo Charity Horse Show
Sunshine, the magnificence of horses and a benefit all await. The Menlo Circus Club in Atherton is the venue, and the lush grounds make the perfect setting for the majestic horses as they jump and display their strength and beauty. Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (Vista), is the beneficiary of the event. Vista is the premier resource for individuals with vision loss in San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties. Nightly events combine the excitement of show jumping with the best of entertainment featuring casual dinners, wine and beer tastings. July 30-31. Filoli Art Walk
Head to Filoli in all its splendor this annual event that showcases hand-picked local artists selling their work throughout Filoli’s spacious 16 acre Garden. Ceramics, jewelry and original paintings will delight shoppers, while those who simply love the gardens can stroll and enjoy.
In August you can attend the gorgeous Gala in the Garden that raises funds for Filoli helping preserve the historic House and Gardens and expanding the vast Natural Lands for public programs and events that welcome Bay Area residents and visitors to create memories and new narratives of beauty, nature, and shared stories in a unique setting. This an art piece like no other. Through new works by 15 of the world’s leading composers, emerging songwriters and choreographers, you will witness spoken word, poetry, sculpture, video art, music film and live performance and hear hundreds of young artists aged 8 – 18 process their biggest, most powerful emotions.

You will witness a journey into the subconscious minds of children and teens during this time of global turmoil and transformation. A New Park: Presidio Tunnel Tops
Get your steps in by exploring the newly opened park a decade in the making. From the designers of the NYC Highline, this 14-acre area includes fire pits, play areas and gardens with 180 varieties of native plants. Built on top of the Presidio Parkway tunnels- the views of the GG Bridge are incredible. There are food trucks every day should you “forget” to pack a snack or lunch. You can reserve a picnic table (with a view of course) there are murals honoring our Bay Area diversity and special events take place the first Sunday of the month from August – November. The San Francisco Jewish Film festival is back
The festival is back with its provocative and moving films. There are at home and in person options. Highlights include “Bernsteins Wall” – a centerpiece documentary this Saturday at the Castro Theatre. Leonard Bernstein’s life journey defined his role as one of America’s most important musical figures, while fighting to create social change and inspire political activism.
In Alameda on July 29th, you can view “Where Life Begins”. While on summer vacation with her large family on a bucolic Italian farm, the rebellious young ultra-Orthodox Esther meets the divorced, non-devout Catholic Elio. The two opposites gradually discover that, with mutual admiration and magnetism, opposites attract. A variety of great films for you to discover now through July 31st. Plant Sale!
Over the past few years, plant parents abound. Plants are the hottest trend in home décor and a young couple started a pop-up marketplace for plants in 2017 when they realized how successful their plant booth was at a fundraiser for their son’s school. They wanted to make locally sourced plants available to everyone. Soon Gardeneur was born and Top of Form
Bottom of Form hosts its pop-up events at multiple locations throughout the Bay Area.
