Sparkle, Fringe, and Leather
LA Story: Style Story: Sparkle and Fringe
One of my favorite trends this Fall is, sequins, and fringe, (mine is beaded). Lucky for me, my knit crop top, vintage, has both! A shorter top is perfect for any high-waist bottom because it’s likely to hit exactly where your bottoms, start like my off-white jeans, Zara. The combo, short top & high-waist bottom will make you appear taller and leaner because the sightline has no break. The sequins and the beaded fringe reflect the light to add some pop to my monochromatic look.
My sheer wrap, Barneys NY, with contrasting silk trim is in the same neutral colour palette and is light, airy and brings balance to the dressier top and the casual bottom. My saddle-coloured sandals, Sam Edelman, add on another casual element along with my, Parker, link necklace, Gorjana, tricolor bracelet and watch, Cartier, and, Ray -Ban, sunglasses. My fluid look goes from day to casual evening and is a great way to wear some of Fall’s hottest trends especially in our City’s, HOT, weather
*style-tip: balance is key when styling your look. I used a dressier top and wrap with a very casual bottom. For balance I added a simple flat leather sandal and kept my casual jewelry to a minimum.
LA Story: Ode to the Leather Jacket
Fall is here, fashionably speaking, even though in some parts of the world it feels like an inferno. The season’s colour palette includes a lot of, black, and, brown, as well as some brights, Pacific Ocean blue, deep orange, lime, hot pink, mellow yellow and white. These, holdover, colours from summer allow us to extend the life of some of our favorite garments and integrate them into our fall wardrobe. The goal is to wear and style them differently than you did in the summer. My very laid back casual look gives a nod to the season with a vegan leather jacket, Zara and dark inky-black trousers, Nili Lotan.
My white poplin shirt, H&M, is a few sizes larger than I’d normally wear. Aside from the pop of the crisp white colour it gives my look dimension, ie…the larger top half over a leaner bottom half. Since our weather is extremely hot, I’m wearing a flat black sandal, Sam Edelman, to keep my look, lighter even though I’m integrating a really dark trouser and jacket. My jewelry, I’ve kept simple with my, Cartier, watch, Parker, necklace, Gorjana, and my, Ray-Ban, sunglasses. I can go from my workday to a casual dinner out at the beach, where it thankfully, cools down at night
style-tip: a motorcycle jacket has no season.
*please treat your wardrobe well. many people worked very hard to get it to you.
