Feng Shui Tips: Dogs and Bonding
The practice of Feng Shui has many things to teach us about life and relationships. Feng Shui master Debra Duneier shares how dogs bring luck and prosperity into our homes, plus tips on how to create a meaningful bond by asking questions.
For Good Feng Shui
Dogs and good Feng Shui go hand-in-hand. According to Feng Shui principles, dogs represent a strong life-force that can help us feel more connected to ourselves and others. Our four-legged friends are said to bring luck and prosperity into our homes. When dogs are welcomed into our home, it’s believed to bring a strong flow of Chi energy, which enlivens and energizes the entire house. Feng Shui practitioners believe dogs have the power to attract positive energy and ward off negative vibrations. Not only that, but dogs can make us feel calmer and more connected with the world around us. It is amazing to note that 40 percent of a puppy’s ability to understand human commands is genetic. We have bred them to be our companions and “fur babies.” Dogs possess an innate skill to communicate with us through their body language, allowing for a unique bond between us and our pups. By welcoming a dog into your home, you are inviting in the energy of good Feng Shui, creating a deep friendship, eliminating stagnant Chi, and enhancing harmony and luck!
Create Bonds
Why is the sky blue? How do we know the world is round? Where does sand come from? As children, we have so many questions. It is an indication of our curiosity and excitement about the world around us. As adults, we often search for words or become awkward when conversing with an acquaintance. Showing genuine interest in other people by asking them questions not only establishes a connection, but can also open great opportunities for dialogue. It is one of the best ways to create strong bonds with others and to have more meaningful conversations. When you desire to have a dialogue, it’s important to ask open-ended questions. These types of questions allow for a more varied and interesting conversation, as opposed to simple yes or no questions that can easily lead to dead ends. Additionally, ask follow-up questions to further probe into the topic of discussion, showing your interest in the other person’s views and opinions. By asking meaningful, thought-provoking questions and actively listening to the answers, you can create a strong connection with others—one that could potentially last for a lifetime.
