Oct. 28. “An Evening with John Legend”
It doesn’t matter how old you are, Miami fans of all ages are rushing to buy tickets for the John Legend concert at Hard Rock Stadium in Hollywood. I thought that I would warn you now. If you don’t get your tickets soon, it will all be sold out.
Let me remind you, John Legend has been hailed as one of the preeminent singer-songwriters of his generation, earning international praise for celebrated songs like “Green Light” and “All of Me.” His concerts are completely dreamy. As far as I am concerned, he is a breath of fresh air. He is calm, confident, caring and very creative. It’s an evening of pleasant entertainment, something we all need.
Here is some information about the music maker. “A native of Ohio, Legend’s big break came through early collaborations with rapper Kanye West, who would later sign the GRAMMY Award winner to his GOOD Music label. Since releasing his multi-Platinum debut, “Get Lifted,” in 2004, Legend has released multiple critically acclaimed albums that spotlight his innovative, hip-hop-infused take on R&B and soul. In 2018, Legend joined the “EGOT” group, meaning he’s a winner of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award. Throughout his career, he’s collaborated with artists like Harry Styles, Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor. Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen remain super popular on social media, with millions of followers on In There’s A New Kind Of Groove At The Grove. GET TICKET INFO.
Introducing Regatta Grove in Coconut Grove
Regatta Grove, owned and operated by Breakwater Hospitality Group, is a new open-air premier destination located at the heart of the historic Coconut Grove in Miami. The communal gathering spot, right next to the Biscayne Bay shoreline, comes to life with an elite food and beverage program, groovy music, and breathtaking waterfront views.
Guests will arrive by car, boat or bicycle. Regatta is located on approximately one acre, including three large outdoor bars and 412 seats with a total capacity for 981 people standing and seated. The nautical-themed concept takes inspiration from Florida’s coast, and the venue itself has been designed to resemble the bow of a boat. The space is surrounded by green lawn areas for a variety of new entertainment and wellness programming. The venue features multiple decks, a walkway to the waterfront, direct access to the marina and dockage. Regatta Grove was designed by John Cardello from Cube 3, with finishes designed by Hexecute.
“Regatta Grove is a one-of-a-kind concept and a special opportunity for our team to bring a fresh perspective on waterfront entertainment to South Florida,” says Emi Guerra, co-founder of Breakwater Hospitality Group.
Regatta Grove is located at 3415 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133 at Regatta Harbour. To stay up to date on all the latest news, follow @regattagrove and visit https://regattagrove.com.
A Floating Social Club
I just got the scoop on this. Arkhaus, a boutique architectural company, is planning to set up its social club adjacent to Bird Key, about a half-mile southeast of Belle Meade Island in Biscayne Bay. The new concept, featuring four sleek solar-powered yachts that are connected, will host all kinds of events with live music and yoga classes.
Arkhaus is based in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. The company is dedicated to designing sustainable spaces that evoke a feeling of a home. Arkhaus aims to erect “the world’s first-ever private social club on the water. Available annual memberships range from $7,500 to $10,000 a year. There is an interactive online brochure for the Miami project.
The club was initially scheduled to open in December 2022 but the date was pushed back to the following spring and is now slated for sometime in early 2024. Arkhaus intends to expand the concept to California, Paris, Istanbul, and Dubai.
Arkhaus recently announced it had signed a lease for its Bird Key location and that its vessels are entering production at a shipyard. As a hospitality business, Arkhaus requires a liquor license, entertainment permits, and other licensing from the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and the state. But because it will operate over water, Arkhaus’ primary regulator is the U.S. Coast Guard.
The company tells Miami’s New Times that it is currently working with the Coast Guard to obtain regulatory clearance for the project. Read more about it here.
