Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors: Win Tickets
Bram Stoker’s horror classic gets a riotous makeover in this lightning-fast comedic reimagining that celebrates goth, camp, sexuality, and the magic of live theatre. This 90-minute, gender- bending, quick-change romp features a pansexual GenZ Count Dracula in the midst of an existential crisis. Now in its 93rd year, this event showcases fine artists and craft artisans from around the New York metropolitan area, the nation and the world. Attendees come from all over and are a cosmopolitan mix, including art lovers, tourists, faculty and students from the area’s many schools and professionals such as interior designers.
The show is a sidewalk show, not a street fair, and has its venue on University Place, starting at East 13th Street and continuing south along the east side of Washington Square Park to West 3rd Street. GET THE DETAILS.
French Film Festival – FREE
Time Out says…This free outdoor French film festival is back with the theme, “Dance in Film,” and the last two films will be shown on Sept. 6 and Sept. 8 in NYC parks. The festival celebrates the beauty, rhythm and emotion of dance on the big screen. Get more details. Here’s the schedule:

Roving in Coney Island
Our roving photographer, Nicole Freezer Rubens, writes:
Coney Island was originally called Gravesend. By the mid 1800’s it was developed and thrived as a seaside resort and late in the century amusement parks were added. The area flourished until World War II which led to years of neglect.
After decades of decline, in 2010 Luna Park opened to revitalize the area, joining the iconic everlasting Cyclone roller coaster and Wonder Wheel attractions. Today people flock to Coney Island for a dose of nostalgia, sunshine on the beach, to stroll the boardwalk and to return to a simple time.
It always brings me great joy to visit Coney Island. I take off my shoes, walk on the beach, and bring just a little bit of sand stuck between my toes back to my apartment to sustain me until my next visit.
