NYC Life: Coming to Broadway, New Restaurants, Events, and More

Broadway is still hurting, Tomatoes, and it needs our support. Sandi Durell has the scoop on what’s coming up this year, and it’s exciting, like “Water for Elephants, the Musical.” We also have the scoop on some exiting new restaurants opening in 2024.  And heads up Restaurant Week and Broadway Week start Jan. 16.  We have a special invite only author’s event later this month (free). And if you’re overwhelmed with anxiety, there’s a women’s retreat coming up next month. Winter in NYC can be so much fun and one joyous place is Bryant Park. New Restaurants Abound

Broadway might be slow, but the restaurant business is booming. NYC Tourism has the scoop on several ambitious new restaurants you are going to want to try this year. They include soup dumplings, Vietnamese pastries, and new steakhouses. Here are just a couple of the openings that caught our attention.

Gui (776 Eighth Ave.) pictured above, a Korean Steak House in the theater district, featuring dry-aged steaks and globally inspired sides.

Corima  (3 Allen St.), a Lower East Side restaurant offering “progressive Mexican cuisine.

An upscale take on French brasserie seafood comes courtesy of Sea Horse (201 Park Ave. South) in the newly remodeled W Union Square Hotel, just off Union Square Park.

A sushi deli, called TJ’s Sushi Deli (620-622 E. 6th St.), in the East Village. Fresh slices of fish will be offered, along with takeout sushi rolls and rice bowls.
