If you are over sixty does the term
late bloomer really no longer apply?
At long last has the time come to confirm
that certain dreams should be allowed to die?
That fantasy of busking at the mall
or better yet of touring with The Boss
or hoping that your talent would enthrall
the hoy polloy, and golden coins you’d toss.
Or getting some attention from the press
with publicists and handlers at the ready,
your therapist who’d help you cope with stress,
the entourage on hand to keep you steady.
But back on earth reality is king.
