Miami Life: Paradox, Silent Concert, Everglades, Chocolate

We finally made it to the Paradox Museum in Wynwood and it is a unique adventure. Here’s another unique experience— an immersive “silent” live piano musical journey lit by the full moon. Florida is much more than a pretty place, and I have just a few highlights from the Everglades to the Flamingo Gardens.Forget the diet and head to the Chocolate Festival this month-it’s sinful and joyous.

Paradox Museum In Miami Mystifies Your Imagination

We finally made it to the Paradox Museum in Wynwood. The museum and the neighborhood are a perfect match. Both are new worlds that never made sense before but now feel totally real.

Wynwood is like an outdoor museum showcasing some of the most unconventional large-scale paintings you have ever seen. The Paradox Museum features 70 illusion-based exhibits that will challenge your sense of reality.

Both creative platforms certainly wake up your creative side. The Paradox Museum is relatively new to the area. One of the greatest aspects of the place is that it’s intriguing for both adults and children. We went there with our godchildren in their early 40’s and their children nine and five years old. We all played together.

We walked on the ceiling in the reverse room, disappeared on the camouflage wall, cloned ourselves through magical illusions, watched our bodies shrink and grow, got lost in infinity paths, plus so many other surprising experiences.

The six of us created the most extraordinary photos that we shared with family and friends. The staff at the Paradox help you take the proper photos by posting camera stickers on the floor so you know exactly where to stand to get the best shots. They also teach you trick photography. The visit turned out to be a unique adventure for all of us.  GET TICKETS.

Jan. 14. Full Moon Silent Piano Concert in Miami Beach

Many people I know feel like they have to enter a different world in order to free themselves from the stress of their real one. Miami has the answer.  We took “this trip” in the past and we plan to do it again January 14th.

Experience an immersive musical journey lit by the full moon as MindTravel creator Murray Hidary is going to bring live-piano compositions to Miami that will immerse you in a musical journey lit by a full moon.

All you have to do is put on your headphones and let the enchanting piano melodies wash over you. You will be sitting on the beautiful Miami Beach sand, closing your eyes and letting your mind wander, allowing the music to guide your thoughts and emotions.

This unique experience offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you’re a music lover, seeking relaxation, or simply looking for a moment of peace, this ‘silent’ piano journey is the perfect opportunity to unwind and find solace.

Tuesday, January 14 · 6:30 – 8:30pm EST

(on the sand in front of) Indian Beach Park

4601 Collins Avenue Miami Beach

NOTE: The experience will be held rain or shine.

Florida Is Not Just A Pretty Place

Did you know? Florida is the only place in the world where you can find both alligators and crocodiles coexisting in the wild, within the Everglades National Park!

🏖️ Miami’s South Beach is world-famous for its golden sands, turquoise waters, and vibrant Art Deco architecture that lights up the nightlife.

🌴 The Florida Keys, a string of tropical islands, offer some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the world, especially at the stunning John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.

🎢 Walt Disney World in Orlando is the most visited theme park on Earth, where millions of visitors each year experience the magic of Disney.

🐊 The Everglades National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering airboat tours through swamps filled with exotic wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

🌅 Clearwater Beach, consistently ranked among the best beaches in the U.S., is known for its powdery white sand and postcard-worthy sunsets.

🍊 Florida is the citrus capital of the U.S., producing more than 70% of the nation’s oranges and offering the freshest orange juice you’ll ever taste.

🌌 The Kennedy Space Center on the Space Coast is a must-visit for space enthusiasts, featuring real spacecraft, astronaut experiences, and live rocket launches.

🏝️ Dry Tortugas National Park, accessible only by boat or seaplane, is a secluded paradise with crystal-clear waters and historic Fort Jefferson.

🐢 Every summer, Florida’s beaches become the stage for an awe-inspiring natural event: the sea turtle nesting season, where tiny hatchlings make their way to the ocean.

🚗 Driving along A1A Highway, Florida’s scenic coastal road, offers incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and charming seaside towns.

🦩 Florida’s wetlands are home to the iconic flamingos, and places like Flamingo Gardens provide an up-close look at these elegant pink birds.

Chocolate Cures All Woes

Everyone is talking about which diet drug they are going on to quickly lose 30 pounds, and all I can think about is the chocolate at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. It’s that time of year for the annual Festival of Chocolate on January 18 and 19. This is the 18th year for the two-day event. It’s completely joyous. One bite of chocolate and you forget all of your troubles.

You get to taste decadent desserts, sip on chocolate-themed drinks, learn something new through cooking demos, pick up goodies from artisanal vendors, build-your-own chocolate bar studio, and sip bourbon and chocolate pairings! The celebration also features live music throughout the garden.

The younger visitors can enjoy bubble dance parties, and compete in the Chocolate Olympics, which typically includes games like cacao sack and spoon balance races, and a donut toss.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden – 10901 Old Cutler Road. Saturday, January 18 to Sunday, January 19; from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. GET THE DETAILS.
