May 7-8. America’s Cup Races Back in New York!
The America’s Cup races are returning to New York for the first time in nearly a century! Head down to the Battery Park City Esplanade this weekend, from 2:00 to 3:30 and watch the first of the races leading up to the 2017 America’s Cup final in Bermuda. Defending champ Oracle Team USA is set to take on chalengers.
May 5-8. Frieze Returns to Randall’s Island

Frieze New York 2016 brings together the world’s leading galleries, innovative curated sections, a celebrated series of talks, site-specific artist commissions and the city’s most talked about restaurants, all in a bespoke structure overlooking the East River in Randall’s Island Park, Manhattan. May 11. STREETS Eats
STREETS Eats returns for its 9th annual year. Enjoy bites from NYC chefs and mixologist while benefiting STREETS, an innovative social enterprise initiative whose goal is to develop and operate sustainable programs for street kids and disadvantaged youth in SE Asia and throughout the world. Proceeds from this event will help a non-profit hospitality school and café in Hoi An, Vietnam, which trains disadvantaged youth in culinary professions. May 16. Valerie Smaldone Presents Hit Makers
Media personality and celebrity interviewer, Valerie Smaldone has a fabulous new series of events, “Hit Makers: Music Icons in Performance and Conversation with Valerie Smaldone”. She’s kicking off the series at the Sheen Center, with Tommy James of “Tommy James and the Shondells”, whose hits include “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Crimson and Clover”. Hit Makers will feature some of music’s biggest stars, who will perform and share intimate details on their rise to fame and behind the scenes adventures. Get the details and tickets.
