Join The Three Tomatoes & Glow She Angels Giving Circle!

In August 2024, Cheryl Benton, founder of The Three Tomatoes, and Anne Akers, founder and editor of Glow Beauty, Health and Wellness, in partnership with the She Angels Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit), announced the formation of our Giving Circle, and in October, thanks to so many generous Tomatoes,  we awarded our first $5,000 grant to the Bella Abzug Leadership Institute, which was matched by She Angels for a total of $10,000.

But we’re not done.

We have selected our next grantee, Hearts of Gold, a non-profit founded in 1994 in NYC whose mission and purpose is to break the vicious cycle of homelessness for single mothers and their children. They have positively impacted the lives of over 36,000 homeless mothers and their children.

A donation in any amount will help us reach our grant goal. Donors who contribute $500 or more will become members of our Giving Circle. 100% of all member donations go directly to the grantees.

Did you know that only 1.8% of all giving in the U.S. goes to women and girls? She Angels Foundation was founded four years ago, to change that by awarding grants through giving circles to grassroots female-founded non-profit organizations that provide mentorship, funding & resources to a diverse portfolio of women’s and girls’ causes. Since their founding, they have awarded $200,000 in  grants. Anne Akers and I were so impressed with their mission and results that we wanted to form a Giving Circle in partnership with them.

The tomato behind The Three Tomatoes.
Cheryl Benton, aka the “head tomato” is founder and publisher of The Three Tomatoes, a digital lifestyle magazine for “women who aren’t kids”. Having lived and worked for many years in New York City, the land of size zero twenty-somethings, she was truly starting to feel like an invisible woman. She created The Three Tomatoes just for the fun of it as the antidote for invisibility and sent it to 60 friends. Today she has thousands of friends and is chief cheerleader for smart, savvy women who want to live their lives fully at every age and every stage. She is the author of the novel, "Can You See Us Now?" and co-author of a humorous books of quips, "Martini Wisdom." Because she's lived a long time, her full bio won't fit here.
