Winter in Miami
Winter in Miami defies the imagination and is a real potpourri of Music, Art, Film, Festivals and of course, good eats. While the rest of the country shivers, Miami turns up the heat for three months of non-stop parties and good times. Below are just a few tips for the month of January.
Jan. 17. Celine Dion at The American Airlines Theatre
For the first time since 2009, Canadian icon CELINE DION has relinquished her record-setting Las Vegas residency and hit the road to Miami. A performance not to be missed! Get the details.
Jan. 30-Feb. 1. Super Bowl Music Fest
This one is for every music lover’s bucket list. A three day festival of music greats including Gun N Roses on Friday night and Maroon 5 on Saturday night, in this concert of epic proportions, as a fitting kickoff to Super Bowl Sunday! Get the details.
Jan. 17-19. Art Deco Weekend
Located in South Beach, this 3-day festival captures the spirit of Miami, its history, art and culture thru the Art Deco period. Jan. 18-19. Beaux Arts Festival of Art
In its 69th year, this festival held at the University of Miami showcases budding talent, with over 200 Fine Art exhibitors, with children’s art experiences, great dining option, live music and free admission to the Lowe Art Museum. This is South Florida’s oldest juried art festival with cash prizes, and all proceeds of the weekend to benefit the Lower Art Museum.
Now – Jan. 12. National Young Arts Week
Also showcasing a new breed of artists is in South Beach, with artists from 10 different disciplines, and performances in voice, jazz, theatre, dance, film, classical music, design, photography, and visual artists held at South Beach New World Center. www.youngarts.org/national-youngarts-week.
Miami Arts and Heritage Month
