Renewal Summit 2019 Highlights

Anne Akers and Cheryl Benton were delighted to present our third Renewal Summit on May 11th in New York City. Our attendees loved this daylong event of speakers and panels inspiring us to live our best lives, right now!

Here are just a few of the comments from our attendees.

Here are a few of the highlights from the day.

Fireside Chat with Dr. Robi Ludwig

Renewal Summit 2019 Highlights

Cheryl Benton interviewed Dr. Robi Ludwig about her book, “Your Best Age is Now” and how to bust through the myths of midlife and develop an ageless mindset.  Dr. Robi said there is “NO biological reason why ageism should exit.” She also suggests flipping the script, and asking the question, “What would your younger self tell you?

Secrets of Glowing Beauty, Health and Wellness

9-time Emmy winning journalist Jane Hanson moderated this incredibly informative panel on beauty from the inside out with panelists, Lisa Oz, wellness expert and New York Times bestseller author, Dr. Daryl Gioffre, celebrity nutritionist and author of “Get Off Your Acid”, and Karen Ballou, founder Immunocologie, natural skin care products. They all agreed on the health benefits of eating plant-based foods and being mindful of what we put in and on our bodies.

Declutter Your Life from the Inside Out

Anne Akers led a fabulous discussion with three experts: Andrew Mellen, a professional organizer, dubbed “the most organized” man in America. He demonstrated his “triangle approach to being organized” as seen in the video above. Debra Duneier, a Feng Shui master and the creator of Eco-Chi talked about the principles of Feng Shui in your everyday life and creating green environments. Psychologist Dr. Sheila Bloom Josephson talked about the pathology of clutter.

The Pillars of Emotional Wellbeing and Brain Health

Merrill Stone moderated this very important conversation with three experts – Beatty Cohan, a nationally recognized psychotherapist, author, speaker; Lisa Feiner, co-founder “Sharp Again Naturally”; and Brooks Kenny, executive director of Women Against Alzheimer’s. They discussed mental health, depression, and some of the latest information on Alzheimer’s and dementia. The big takeaways were if you are depressed or struggling, talk to someone. And we need to start talking about our brain health and to our doctors on this topic.

Dianne Devitt led a beautiful conversation in celebration of Mother’s Day with three pairs of mothers and daughters:  Cheryl Benton and Roni Jenkins; Helene Shalotsky and Robi Ludwig; Carol Sue Gershman and Leslie Kuster. It was touching and moving panel, straight from the heart.

Build Your Thrill List with Food and Travel

Roni Jenkins took us around the world in 45 minutes with three wonderful travel and food experts:  Wanda Radetti, a Croatia travel expert; Gabriella Contestabile, Italy expert and author; and Sheryl Kayne, a travel and food writer. They all encouraged us to get out there and enjoy all our big wide world has to offer.

Here are a few more wonderful photos (Jan Goldstoff) that capture the spirit and joy of the day.

Many thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors.  Full coverage here.
