Amara Chocolate and Coffee

Hot Chocolate at Amara’s Chocolate and Coffee Boutique Café was a revelation to my palate and transported me to a whole other plane of goodness. Delicate handmade pastries, desserts, truffles, fondues and sipping chocolates abound and all made with imported Venezuelan chocolate . The signature espresso lattes are to die for.  And tomatoes, don’t you dare leave without trying their delectable crispy and warm churros. Ooops! I’m drooling again.

Their chocolate is the real deal tomatoes with nothing fake, no substitutes only the best pure ingredients imported from Venezuela in all the drinks and hot chocolates. Amara Barroeta says, “Most people don’t know about Venezuelan food – there’s an important balance between sweet and savory. This means that the empanada dough has a slightly sweet flavor and the drinks are not overly sweet.”  Love it that this is a woman owned business and that it’s located right on the ground floor of the parking structure on Fair Oaks with plenty of metered street parking.  An essential perk when it comes to parking in Pasadena ladies. The ambiance is romantic and quaint, (I love quaint) and a tomato chocolate freak’s heaven on earth.
