Let’s enjoy these last weeks of summer. Attention Mrs. Maisel fans: head to the Paley Center for a fab exhibit. Summer Streets is back with lots of fun free activities. Enjoy the Dragon Boat Festival. Join the 3T Insider’s Club and enjoy fun events like the upcoming one at Sotheby’s. It’s also a great time to dine on the water, and Gael Greene says the River Café is a rare and delicious indulgence. And September brings two fab 3T events. Sept 17 will get you organized forever. Aug. 3 – Sept. 6. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Exhibit at the Paley Center

If you’re a huge fan of this series like we are, you are going to want to head to The Paley Center for Media’s free “Making Maisel Marvelous”.  Immerse yourself in Madge’s world with interactive sets that include recreations of the hair salon from the Catskills; the booth from the Stage Deli; the B. Altman switchboard; Rose’s Paris apartment. Several of Madge’s gorgeous costumes will be showcased, and there will be screenings of some of the episodes too.  

The exhibit is on from Aug. 10 to Sept. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, at 25 W. 52nd St. Details at  paley.me/mrsmaisel.

Aug. 3-4.  The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival

The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival takes place this weekend on Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadows to celebrate the fifth moon (or the fifth month) of the lunar calendar. In addition to providing audiences with traditional Chinese foods and performances, the festival hosts over 120 dragon boat teams from across North America, making it one of the largest dragon boat festivals in the United States. Depending on the competitive division, teams compete for cash prizes, trophies and other prizes.  Get the details.

Summer Streets is Back for Three Saturdays

Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York City’s most valuable public space—our streets. On three consecutive Saturdays August 3, 11, 17, nearly seven miles of NYC’s streets are opened for people to play, run, walk and bike. From the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park along Park Avenue and connecting streets, you can plan a trip as long or as short as you like.  You’ll find all kinds of activities free of charge, and designed for people of all ages and ability levels to share the streets respectfully. Aug. 28. 3T Insider Club Event: Sotheby’s Chatsworth Exhibit

Our next 3T Insider Club members’ event is a reserved tour at Sotheby’s to view the remarkable Devonshire Collection from Chatsworth. Forty-five masterworks including fine art from Rembrandt van Rijn to Lucian Freud, furniture and decorative objects from the 16th century to 21st-century design, and exceptional jewels, garments, and archival materials commemorating historic occasions will all be on view.
