Celebrating Pop – Gift Ideas
If a card doesn’t tell Dad how special he is I have a few suggestions that might bring a smile to his face.
For the Beer Lover, help him brew his own. Diving Dog Brewery in Oakland gives you the opportunity to learn the art of beer making and craft and bottle your own brew. He gets to select a recipe (while quality testing the many brews on tap) and create his own brew. After fermentation, he heads back in a few weeks to bottle his own creation.
And while we are on the subject of hops – if you really want to go all out after you help him brew his own. You can give him the gift of a woodworking workshop where Dad creates his own Wooden Six Pack Caddy. You can bring your reusable carrier when you head to pick up your own craft beer. In a 2 and half hour workshop in San Francisco, he will learn the art of woodworking from self-taught wood workers who create unique wood products. Great idea for a group of Dads! Get the scoop here.
If Dad is more of a fan of vodka, Alameda-based distillery Hangar 1 has come up with what has got to be one of the most unusual vodkas, Fog Point Vodka. Local fog is captured and repurposed as clean, pure water using man-made “fog collectors” from around the Bay Area. Bonny Doon Winery provided the vino to use as the distillate. Limited edition, so hurry. All profits will be donated to the expansion of sustainable water applications. Get more information.
Is Dad an adrenaline junkie? How does Fighter Pilot for a day sound? If money is no object you can make a gent’s Top Gun dreams a reality. Dog fighting and rolls while soaring through the air are part of the “fun”. Instructors are all ex-military so don’t worry about your man. Ray Bans not included. Get more information.
Lastly if your man appreciates style, a custom shirt will have him looking as sharp as Empire’s Andre Lyon (Trai Byers) who happens to wear J Hilburn on the show. Shameless self-promotion as I happen to be a stylist with J Hilburn Men’s Custom and Luxury clothing. A gift certificate for your guy always fits! Stylists (such as myself) take a few measurements and your gent selects his fabric (100% Italian cotton), style and fit. Semi-custom suits and ready to wear available so no more annoying trips to the mall are necessary. Plus it’s luxury for less, custom without breaking the bank. Stylists are located throughout the country and I can assist you locally or wherever you reside. Contact me for info.
