Doo Wop in Your Living Room
People all over the world love the sound of Doo Wop. Judging from the success of Broadway shows Jersey Boys and Motown:The Musical, the enduring musical genre that was popularized in the 1940’s, still has passionate fans. Sunday night, Oct. 25, you can enjoy both the Doo Wop sound and Broadway performances when The Doo Wop Project: Live In Your Living Room, a virtual theatrical concert, will be broadcast live from Shubert Studios at 7:00PM.
This musical, theatrical experience was even conceived on Broadway, albeit backstage at the August Wilson Theatre, the original home of Jersey Boys. Sunday evening you can sit back and enjoy the concert as well as participate. Audience members will be able to chat with the group via a live chat, request songs and interact with each other.
All of the members of the Doo Wop Project are seasoned Broadway performers including Charl Brown,
Tony nominated for playing Smokey Robinson in Motown:The Musical.
Also on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 5 PM, you can enjoy a unique Sustainable Natural Dye interactive workshop and support a special charity at the same time.
Artisan Cara Marie Piazza will show you how to dye fabrics using fruits, vegetables and flowers and will stream the presentation live from the Starbright Florists studios. The workshop benefits Fashion Fights Cancer. To purchase tickets go to: www.fashionfightscancer.org/events/
