Dec. 9. A Special 3T Holiday Event
Through January 10. Glow South Coast Botanic Garden
Glow at the South Coast Botanic Garden is a visually stunning after-dark garden walk through with lights, music and more! This incredible art installation will transform the Garden’s already amazingly lush botanic oasis into a very unique experience. Or should I say an Oceanic Experience, Tomatoes?
Yes, because their theme is Garden Lights and Ocean Waters, Tomatoes. How magical?! The walk is set to a curated soundtrack to appeal to everyone. The brilliant colors will wash over you like a wave, and the inspiring music will be your current, guiding you through this amazing Garden. It’s a big WOW, Tomatoes and I can’t wait to go!
Through January 10. Reflections
“Reflections” at Descanso Gardens, during daytime hours, invites you to take a moment to reflect and enjoy the beauty that’s all around us. The garden will be filled with art pieces beautifully placed, special seasonal plantings, self-guided activities, floral wreaths, and a lovely Wishing Tree. Oh, I so want to visit The Wishing Tree and make a wish.
There’s no better place or time to reflect, Tomatoes. Highlights of “Reflections” include not only The Wishing Tree but Golden Grove, Floral Arches, a Mirror Tree, Deer Sculptures and Winter Plantings. Lots to bring joy and peace to your heart, Tomatoes. Reflections is included in the price of admission. Non-members must purchase tickets online in advance at descansogardens.org/tickets. Descanso Gardens members get in free and do not need tickets or reservations. Members can enter the garden early at 8am daily.
Holiday Cards to Help CASA
Get your Holiday Cards now, Tomatoes, before they sell out. CASA of LA has a great alternative to gifts. A donation to CASA of LA and the life-changing work they do means so much to so many children. The cards are adorable, and Nicolas Kristoff of the NY Timeslisted CASA as a nonprofit to support on his annual holiday gift guide! They so deserve that recognition, Tomatoes.
CASA is one of only five organizations highlighted in the gift guide. Nicolas Kristoff describes CASA the best, “We can’t fix foster care overnight, but we can help these kids negotiate a sometimes uncaring system — and that’s what CASA does.” Yes, they definitely do, Gals. CASA, aka Court Appointed Special Advocates, provide life changing advocacy and support for the children in each community that need it most. Buying a Holiday Card from CASA LA is a marvelous way to celebrate the Holiday Season while helping foster kids get the much-needed attention and support they deserve. Help CASA make a difference in a child’s life if you are able, Tomatoes.
