LA LIFE: Holidaze Comedy, Markets, Lamp Lighting & MoreYou gals know how much I love Heritage Square.  Well, here’s your chance to experience a spectacular trip back in time at the “Annual Heritage Square Holiday Lamplight Celebrations” with the sparkling glow of historic Victorian homes and lots of holiday cheer. Woo hoo! Hop to it ladies because this event sells out fast!

The festivities include singing, dancing and re-enactments of holiday rituals past. There is no online ticketing for this event, so you do have to call in to make your ticket purchase. To purchase tickets please call the museum offices at (323) 225-2700 ext. 223 Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Heritage Square Museum is truly one of LA’s hidden gems. What the donors and volunteers are doing there to preserve a living history of the settlement, lifestyles and the development of Southern California through the lens of these homes is amazing. This year, more than 30 docents will help re-create the holiday celebrations experienced in the museum’s historic Victorian homes with a glimpse of history of LA’s Bunker Hill region and how it has changed over the years.

December 2-3.  A NEW Home for the Holidays

LA LIFE: Holidaze Comedy, Markets, Lamp Lighting & MoreThis wonderful event channels the warmth of a traditional holiday concert and sing-along with a modern twist from our incredible Angel City Chorale. Just imagine Tomatoes, 160 singers, sparkling festive lighting in their new home, a full orchestra with a combination of holidays favorites wrapped in fresh and stylish arrangements under the direction of ACC Founder-Director and fellow genius tomato Susan Fink.  A wonderful way to ring in December gals.

“A NEW Home for the Holidays” is a joyful, optimistic and diverse celebration of Holiday Traditions and creating new ones in their new home Immanuel Presbyterian Church in DTLA’s Koreatown.  The concert will feature the world premiere of “Hanukkah Lullaby,” an original piece by ACC Founder-Artistic Director Sue Fink and ACC choir member and songwriter Denny Wynbrandt.  “We want our children to never have to suffer, and in times of great challenges like war, illness, political unrest, or financial difficulties, joy and celebration at the holidays can seem a distant dream,” explains Fink about the new piece.

“‘Hanukkah Lullaby’ attempts to answer a question with which we can all relate: How can you help your children and family remain resilient during difficult times?”  Stunning new interpretations of familiar carols like “Bring a Torch” and “O Holy Night” will be performed alongside an A Capella number from acclaimed vocal group Committed – winners of NBC’s musical competition The Sing Off in 2010. This Holiday concert is sure to resonate with attendees of any age, background, culture, or religion Tomatoes so don’t hesitate to make your reservations.
