Marie Force Talks QUANTUM Series & Writing Erotic RomanceNew Yorkers know it is entirely possibly to run into famous movies stars on film sets around the city. In fact, just recently, we saw George Clooney filming on Wall Street and James Franco on 30th Street in Manhattan.

So perhaps it was just one of those New York mornings for teacher Natalie Bryant. While out walking her dog, the animal bolts, and, in pursuit of the pup, Natalie literally stumbles onto a movie set in Greenwich Village. There she comes into the presence of the most famous movie stars on the planet, Flynn Godfrey. Taken with her, he has no intention of letting her walk away. He invites her for coffee and continues to woo her. Before you know it, one thing leads to another and they end up in a steamy, sexy, hot, passionate relationship laced with danger.

And so begins the erotic series, the Quantum Series. As Natalie and Flynn’s romance flourishes, we travel with them From New York to Los Angeles, Hollywood to Las Vegas.  Along the way we discover that our movie star is a sexual dominant.

While this is a ‘debut’ erotic romance series, it comes from a super star in the world of contemporary romance:  Marie Force, writing as M.S. Force.

She already has over 40 successful books under her belt, including several popular series–McCarthy, Green Mountain, and Fatal series. And she continues to keep those stories going strong.

RaptuousBut with the Quantum series, she has switched things up! I chatted with Marie about the first three full-length books in the series — Virtuous, Valorous and Victorious – when they published in April and was excited to hear that there is a fourth book to look forward to, Rapturous.

Virtuous – the first book – is free in eBook form all of November. So grab your copy and enjoy this excerpt of my chat with M.S, aka Marie, about this exciting series.
Neiman Marcus Last Call (Neiman Marcus)
You’ve had a hugely successful career as an author of contemporary romance, what inspired you to write an erotic romance series?

Marie-ForceThanks for having me! I was inspired to write the Quantum Trilogy because the characters of Flynn and Natalie were calling to me, and the story I wanted to tell was erotic. It’s really that simple.

Do the first three books follow the same characters? What kind of story can we expect to unfold?

Yes, the three books feature a huge Hollywood star named Flynn Godfrey who meets first-year school teacher Natalie Bryant in New York City after her dog bites him. The story unfolds during Hollywood award season, which was really fun to write. The story follows Flynn and Natalie from the day they first meet on the crazy ride that follows.

What would you say is the major difference or distinction between the books you are known for as Marie Force and the new books under your pen name, M.S. Force?

The major differences are that the Quantum Trilogy is my first foray into first-person present tense, which I really loved writing. I think it made the story grittier and more immediate, which was fun. There are cliffhangers in the first two books, which are also new for me. That’s why the books were out three weeks in a row—I didn’t want readers to have to wait for the next book. They are also sexier than my other books, which is probably obvious since they’re erotic romance.

Is the writing or research process different?

The biggest challenge was that I tried to wrap the story around Hollywood Award season, so I ended up walking around like a zombie with a paper calendar in hand, making sure everything matched up. So timing was my greatest challenge with the Quantum Trilogy.

Virtuous introduces us to Flynn Godfrey. Tell us a little bit about your sexy hero why women will fall in love with him. Or is it lust they will be falling into?

I’d venture to predict that readers will fall into love and lust with Flynn. He was so fun to write. He’s been famous all his life after being born to two celebrities, and he’s learned to live his life by his own terms. He’s sexy and possessive and thoughtful and aggravating at times. I love him, and I hope readers will, too.

The book has a BDSM theme. Inquiring minds want to know, did you do any fun hands-on research?

Even if I did, I wouldn’t talk about it publicly. 🙂

How does this kind of writing spice things up for you as a writer?

It was a change of pace, particularly the first person point of view. If you’re talking about the sexy stuff—that wasn’t all that different. My other books are also rather sexy, so it’s not like it was new to me.

Readers certainly fall in love with your fictional men. What makes you fall in love with a character when you are writing?

I love writing about guys who lay it all on the line for the women they love, who are willing to do whatever it takes to make her happy, but yet they are also flawed and imperfect at the same time. I figure if I love them the readers will, too.

Where does the magic happen? Do you write in a home office or on the road, or both?

Believe it or not, I write mostly in bed. 🙂

And the question we ask all authors: Why do you think erotic romances are good for readers?

Anything that entertains readers and takes them away from reality for a short time is good for them. I’m happy to be able to do that for them through my books.

The Quantum Series Order is:

Virtuous

Valorous

Rapturous, will be out on January 19, 2016 and is available for pre-order.
