Miami Life: Antiques, Plant Sale, Friends, Ralph Lauren
The hunt for antiques is on, and I will be among the shoppers looking for merchandise from across the globe at the Original Miami Beach Antique Show. The Fairfield Garden is having their annual tropical plant sale. But hurry it ends today! There’s a great group of Miami ladies from ages 35-85 who have created a wonderful network of friends and fun things to do. Guess who just opened a coffee shop in Miami? Ralph Lauren.
January 19-23. The Original Miami Antiques Show
This proves that Miami is a true city of diversification. Art Basel, the largest art exhibition in the world to show off ultra-contemporary work, is just finishing up, and now the Miami Convention Center is getting ready for a whopper of an antique show. It’s so much fun to shop for both. Mix and match seems to be the way to go for many folks who like to change the look of their homes.
The hunt for antiques is on. I will be among the shoppers looking for merchandise from across the globe. The Original Miami Beach Antique Show presents the most knowledgeable and well-respected dealers from over 30 countries. The show floor provides guests with the opportunity to discover everything from jewelry, watches and handbags to artwork, furniture, home décor and so much more.
There is something for everyone. In addition to shopping, the show is offering a complimentary appraisal day. You can actually get a verbal valuation of your valuables and then decide if you want to sign up with a prestigious auction house. This is amazing. A one stop shop to finally figure out if you should sell your valuables and then find a reputable place to handle the transactions. This is certainly convenient.
Just to remind you, The Original Miami Beach Antique Show, is the real deal. You can discover highly sought-after pieces from world renowned names such as Louis Comfort Tiffany, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Hermès, David Webb, Rolex and more! GET THE DETAILS.

Miami Ladies Create A Network Of Friends
I have talked about this group before in The Three Tomatoes, but something took place recently that just took my breath
away. Every city or neighborhood should have a group like Brickell Women, 2,000 plus ladies, ages 35 to 85, who get together continuously to make new friends and experiences. There are many activities each week so you can always find several friends doing something that would intrigue you.
The pressure is off having to commit to the same ladies all the time. Life becomes far more interesting when you rotate friends. I am not saying you shouldn’t have best friends. All I am trying to say is that a constant flow of new women in your day-to day life will give you more positive energy and opportunities you never had before.
My niece Valerie Hess-Cevallos belongs to Brickell Women. Look at what some of the ladies created for Val’s birthday on November 16th, an art party. Everyone got together and brought an art activity that everyone could share. I was so impressed. Val is one of the early members and her social life is extremely active with unique get togethers that most women don’t do on a steady basis.
Thank you, Nichole Walz-Huddleston, for creating this group. If you are interested in learning how to form a group, I can get you in touch with Nichole. Work hard, play hard. Visit their Facebook group.
Ralph Lauren’s Newest Coffee Shop Is Now Open In Miami
The Aventura Mall is a half hour north of Miami but now that Ralph Lauren has opened a coffee a trendy coffee shop you can be sure we will be going there more often. We used to frequent the Ralph Lauren Polo Bar Restaurant in New York City and Paris and Dylan’s Candy Shop (Ralph’s daughter) on 60th and Third Avenue.
The preppy, all-American style designer, opened the coffee shop just in time for the holidays – operating in front of its flagship store in Aventura Mall. And the launch marks Florida’s first-ever Ralph’s Coffee location!
We are so happy it’s near us. We are big fans. The new shop is decorated in a fitting combination of black-and-white checkered floors, unique café and bench seating and a signature shade of green that manages to be both cozy and elegant at the same time. Whether you’re stopping by for a caffeine fix or there for some holiday shopping, Ralph’s Coffee is such a sweet treat that will please just about anyone.
And the coffee itself is surely worth the trip. Ralph’s will serve their special blends, including Ralph’s Roast, Decaf, and Espresso, feature organically grown beans from Central America, South America, and Africa, and are roasted and packaged in Philadelphia by La Colombe. Only the all-natural Swiss Water Process is used to decaffeinate.
There’s also espresso and teas, along with specialty drinks and Ralph’s Espresso Tonic – a refreshing spin on iced coffee with three shots of espresso, tonic water and an orange slice, served over ice.
If you’re craving a sweet treat, the prime spot also offers up a bevy of confections from Ralph’s Brownie to Ralph’s Chocolate Chip Cookie.
The newest Aventura Mall outpost joins Ralph Lauren’s global hospitality portfolio, which include New York City, London, Munich, Hong Kong, yoto, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Doha.
Ralph’s Coffee is open daily and you can find it inside Aventura Mall (19501 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180), on the mall’s lower level. For more information, click here to visit their website.
