No More Gray
Shana was ready to get rid of her gray hair. Though it was a pretty color, she wanted blonde. And she also wanted help with learning to apply makeup too. Kelly did an amazing job of taking salt and pepper to create an overall ash blonde. Not easy. Kami showed how to lighten dark circles under the eyes. I took little length and simply added a light serum, combed it into a wave and dried it under the hood dryer as that would be easiest for her. As she says, she’s lazy, and won’t spend much time on styling or maintenance. Joann Hopkins, my mother, explained how to dress to appear slimmer with color blocking and use of line in fashion.

This miniature doll, packaged in a plastic cameo, had a tiny body and very long hair. It was perfect for little hands to hold and style. I spent hours on that thing, bobby pins everywhere. Later I graduated to my sister’s Barbie dolls. You could do more with clothing for them because they had full figures for which you could create tissue paper and Scotch tape fashions, complete with stickpin earrings.”
