Our Broadway Babe, Randie Levine Miller, is keeping  Broadway alive for all of us with her great finds that are now streaming, and some amazing concerts, like Tina Turner in Concert, and Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, and Ethel Merman together! Here’s Randie with George Hamilton who was in “Light in the Piazza which is one of streaming picks today.

The Light in the Piazza

Lincoln Center Theater produced “The Light in the Piazza” in 2005, with a book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel (grandson of Richard Rogers)…  Live From Lincoln Center on PBS broadcast the show in 2006, with a wonderful cast, headed by Victoria Clark, who won the Tony Award for her performance. The late Beverly Sillls, hosts.

George Hamilton, who I spent a wonderful several hours with at the Friars Club several years ago… Yes, he still had that tan and his hair was graying… if anything, he was more handsome…with the best sense of humor… we really connected… He was a guest of Donald Soffer who developed Turnberry. Unfortunately, my husband was picking me up and we were heading out to Southampton.. I was beyond disappointed.. George insisted on “escorting” me to the car. As we drove off, George was waving to me, and I, to him… I have a photo displayed in my living room of that memorable “brief encounter”!

Sidebar Two: I think we all have some magical moments in our lives..that are nothing more than that…They’re just moments, but  they remain in our memory banks!

Judy Gardland, Barbra Streisand, Ethel Merman

My heart be still… A plethora of riches… Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Ethel Merman… All together… “Who could ask for anything more?”

“The Judy Garland Show” aired on Sunday nights on CBS-TV during the 1963-64 season….. it was canceled after one season …this incredible concert with three of my favorite performers ( and possibly yours too) aired on October 6, 1963 .. A must not miss!

Sidebar: I used to play the records of all three of these extraordinary divas round the clock in my room and would imitate them in the mirror for hours… Then I’d go to Music and Art, where I was a student, and get up and do my impersonations… to the delight of my classmates, including Laura Nyro (Who was then Laura Nigro)

Tina Tuurner in Concert

Tomatoes can escape for a few hours and be entertained by the one and only Tina Turner… This is an excellent and clear video…

I was actually trying to find the “Tina” Broadway Musical, starring Adrienne Warren, but alas, no luck finding that….But what’s better than finding the real “original”? And you can sing and dance along to this high energy concert in the privacy of your own home… Enjoy, everyone!

Legally Blonde the Musical

The perfect antidote to today’s challenging world, “Legally Blond”, The Broadway Musical is totally upbeat and loads of fun, from start to finish…this is a perfectly and professionally shot video which aired on MTV.. When the songs are sung, the lyrics are projected on screen, like subtitles in a foreign film or opera..so you don’t miss anything…The original cast are all here: Laura Bell Bundy, Christian Borle, Orfeh, Michael Rupert and Kate Shindle

Music and lyrics are by husband and wife team, Nell Benjamin and Laurence O’Keefe (“Bat Boy”, “Heathers”)

Sidebar: I actually sat next to Larry O’Keefe at a press performance….not realizing it was him, at intermission, while we were chatting, I told him how much I was enjoying the show… thank God, cause he wrote it!
