Can you believe only two more weeks of August? And there’s lots to cram in like a visit to the Rosé Mansion, free outdoor opera, and the Jazz Lawn party. And there’s still time for day trips and Connecticut has several fun festivals and fairs. The theater and museums are always a great choice too. Valerie Smaldone says “Sea Wall/A Life” a two-play monologue is excellent storytelling, and fabulous acting with Tom Sturridge and Jake Gyllenhaal. Sept. 22.  Join Us for a Fabulous Day in the Vineyards

This is one of our flagship events every year. We head out to the vineyards of Long Island’s North Fork on a luxury bus (pickup points in NYC and Hicksville) visiting three vineyards and a farm, with VIP tastings, a picnic lunch, great gift bags in the company of other wine loving Tomatoes. Aug. 23- Sept. 2. Outdoor Opera at Lincoln Center

The 11th Summer HD Festival features ten thrilling performances from the Met’s Live in HD series of cinema transmissions—plus a special pre-festival screening of Stanley Donen’s enchanting Funny Face, featuring songs by George and Ira Gershwin, a co-presentation with Film at Lincoln Center. The shows are free with 3,000 seats set up in front of the opera house each night, as well as additional standing room around Lincoln Center Plaza. Get the schedule.

Aug. 24-25. The Jazz Age is Back on Governors Island

This is one of the best parties of the summer.  Wear a flapper costume and dance to the Dreamland Orchestra at Jazz Age Lawn Party, which includes dance lessons, dance contests, food vendors, 1920s cars, croquet, and a kidland on Governors Island.  End you summer in style!  Get the details.

Now – Sept. 30. The Rosé Wine Mansion

The second floor of the Manhattan Mall (near Penn Station) is completely taken over by the pop-up. Sip wines from across the globe as you wander through 14 new rooms that celebrate your favorite summertime wine. During this interactive experience, you’ll discover a whole new side of rosé as you learn about the culture, history and science of this magical pink drink.
