NYC LIFE: Antiques, Opera, Talent, Food, Dining, Giveaways & More

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Don’t let the weather keep you from getting out and about because there’s lots going on this month, like Restaurant Week, the Antiques Show, an opera festival and a designer sale. Brush up on your talent and come audition for our 5th Tomatoes Got Talent show. And we’re giving away 3 pair of tickets to 20th Century Blues, a play about Tomatoes. Here are a few things you’ll want to do this month.

Call for Talented Tomatoes

We’re looking for talented Tomatoes to audition on March 10th for our fifth Tomatoes Got Talent Show which take place on April 9th. Auditions are open to women over 40 who do not earn their living with their talent. Many of our contestants and past winners, started out to be performers and then went on to do other things, but through our Talent Show they have found their back to performing for the love it again. Spread the word. Get the details.

Win Tickets to See 20th Century Blues

A Ted Talk. A photo shoot. A test of friendship. And a bond that connects four women who meet once a year to have their pictures taken in a ritual that chronicles their changing (and aging) selves as they navigate through love, careers, children, and the complications of history. 20th Century Blues is a sharply funny and evocative new play. Enter to win and get discounted tickets too!

Looking for Restaurants in the Theater District?

The Three Tomatoes Hot List is a great resource for excellent (and many reasonably priced) restaurants in the theater district.  Book a 2-for-1 Broadway Show and reasonably priced restaurant too.

The Winter Antiques Show is a … galaxy of colliding worlds. Nearly every booth provides a glimpse into some areas of visual culture, from Egyptian antiquities to American folk art to postwar Italian art glass.    —The New York Times

Get out of the col and head to the Winter Antiques Show at the historic Park Avenue Armory. View and purchase exceptional antiques ranging from ancient Roman glass to mid-century modern from 70 exhibitors. This is one of the best shows around.

The Show highlights a dynamic mix of works dating from ancient times through the present day, and maintains the highest standards of quality in the art market. Each object at the fair is vetted for authenticity, date, and condition by a committee of 150 experts from the United States and Europe.

Now – Jan. 20. PROTOTYPE – OPERA/THEATRE/NOW

This is an annual festival of visionary opera-theatre and music-theatre works by pioneering contemporary artists from New York City and around the world.
