Our roving photographer captured this photo on Little Island, which is hosting a free art festival in August. Jazz at Lincoln Center brings Jazz to Times Square every Thursday. Our Poets on Governor’s Island

Last weekend, three of the poets whose books we have published (The Three Tomatoes Publishing) were participants in the 10th annual New York Poetry Festival. Jane Goldman (With No Regrets), Nicole Freezer Rubens (The Long Pause and the Short Breath), and Carol Ostrow (Poems from My Pandemic Pen) had a great time reading their poems and selling a few of their books too. Congrats to them!


Aug. 11-Sept. 5. Free Art Festival on Little Island

Little Island, NYC’s newest park, just announced they will be hosting the city’s first-ever “NYC Free” Art Festival.  Dozens of NYC artists will share their creations with the rest of the city. And our roving photographer, Nicole Freezer Rubens (author of the Long Pause and the Short Breath), recently visited and captured these awesome photos. Her favorite part is the plantings that are landscaped perfectly for this new urban waterfront green space we can all enjoy.  Get more details.


Every Thursday. Jazz in Times Square

Give your Thursday night a new rhythm. Jazz at Lincoln Center brings New York City’s hottest young jazz bands to the Times Square Plaza, creating the feeling of an intimate club amidst the lights and sounds of Times Square. Aug. 12-20. Dance Festival Returns to Battery Park

Battery Dance connects the world through dance. The 40th Annual Battery Dance Festival is back this year with 56 performances, 32 premieres, representing 14 countries. The Company pursues artistic excellence and social relevance by creating vibrant new works, performing on the world’s stages, presenting dance in public spaces, serving the field of dance and teaching people of all ages with special attention to the disadvantaged and areas of conflict. Aug. 21. “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert”

The official star-studded lineup for the big blowout concert planned at Central Park next month has been announced with two dozen performers including Jon Batiste, LL Cool J, Jimmy Fallon, Journey, Carlos Santana, The New York Philharmonic, Paul Simon, Patti Smith, and Bruce Springsteen. The concert is celebrating NYC’s rebirth. Free tickets will be released on August 2, but you must be vaccinated to attend. Or watch LIVE on CNN. Get the details
