There is certainly no lack of bars in NYC…from pubs to sleek hotel bars. But when it comes to the holidays, there a few that stand out with fabulous views of the city that include Snow Globes, Igloos, and a Midsummer’s Night theme. Oh, and then there’s our very favorite, most Christmassy bar in New York City! Get the scoop.


Dec. 6 – Jan. 26. The Largest Lantern Festival in North America

Head to Citi Field for the first ever, Hello Panda Festival. More than 120 massively illuminated and handcrafted lanterns will be on display, and guests will get to enjoy great food provided by 30 vendors at the festival. Visitors can explore six different lantern-themed parks, and never-before-seen exhibits will be spread throughout the festival grounds: Dream World, Holiday Wonderland, Discovery Zone, Interactive Music Zoe, Sports World and Community Interactive Zone. Display highlights include the world’s tallest Christmas tree lantern, life-sized dinosaurs and safari animals, a huge fairytale castle and a 98-foot-long light tunnel. Get the details.


Now – Jan. 5. Luminosity Festival on Randall’s Island

Head to Randall’s Island for an incredible wonderland of lights. You’ll find themed “worlds” of Winter Fantasy, Wild Adventure, and Sweet Dream with 23 sets of light art displays created by Chinese light artisans. You’ll see a glowing unicorn, an illuminated lollipop land, shining pandas in a bamboo forest, a tasty donut tunnel, and life-sized dinosaurs near a roaring volcano. Tickets are $38 on luminocityfestival.com.


Dec. 8. Beer and Cider Fest

Head to the Eventi Hotel at 852 6th Avenue for an afternoon of beer and cider tastings  featuring 60 producers from all over New York State. Get he details.


Dec. 15. Holiday Music to Benefit St. Jude
