Now that we can navigate our streets a little easier after the excitement of the Pope’s visit and the UN General Assembly, we’ve got some entertaining and worthy event suggestions just for you. For the erudite, check out the New Yorker Festival this weekend. Later this month treat yourself to the 100th Anniversary Birthday Tour of Edith Piaf. OMG. We stopped by the Roger Smith Hotel this week to check out Gabrielle Carlson’s Trunk Show event and to check out the custom made shoes by True Gault. We were in heaven. Gab has so many beautiful new designs we hardly knew where to turn.
And if you love shoes, you must check out True Gault. They scan your feet and then send that off to Spain where they make you a handcrafted pair of shoes that fit your feet perfectly. All this happening at the Roger Smith Hotel @47th and Lex, NYC.
Oct. 23. 100th anniversary tour of Edith Piaf’s birthday. ONE NIGHT Only.
Piaf fans you do not want to miss this tribute show at the Symphony Space. This show will take you on a journey through the streets of Montmatre during the time of “La Vie en Rose.” It tells the story of the life and career of Edith Piaf, performed by the amazing Anne Carrere through hit songs and never before seen photos and images of Edith Piaf, as well as the English translation of the lyrics to Edith’s storytelling melodies, will be shared through a unique audiovisual experience. Nov. 2. Light up a Child’s Life.
The Cambodian Child’s Dream Organization is an awesome non-profit that’s making a huge difference in the lives of children in Cambodia. You can become a dream maker by attending their upcoming fundraiser. Tickets are just $100 and includes an open bar, food, and the chance to bid on exotic travel prices too. Nov. 9. Good Dog Foundation Bash at Barneys
The Good Dog Foundation is another great organization that provides therapy dog services to people in health care, social service, educational and community facilities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and at disaster sites around the country. They are having their annual bash at Fred’s Restaurant at Barneys. Cocktails are 6 to 8 PM, followed by dinner. Get the details.
