NYC LIFE: Hikes, Young Filmmakers, Tomato Shows,
What better time of the year to take a hike than fall? And you don’t have to leave the city to enjoy the fall foliage. We’ve also posted a breathtaking aerial view video of Central Park. We have some great shows to recommend today. Two of our Tomatoes Got Talent finalists are headlining their own shows. There’s a new musical, “This One’s for the Girls”, and our favorite girl trio, The Janes will be at the Triad. And don’t miss a special event to celebrate young filmmakers. Plus tickets are now on sale for the 3T Jingles and Cheers Holiday Lunch.
Take a Hike
What better time of the year to take a hike than fall. And don’t go to go far to enjoy the foliage. Did you know that Central Park has 58 miles of hiking trails? Checkout this amazing video of Central Park in the fall taken from a drone.
Thanks for our friends at NYC Cheap for recommending two parks that might not be top of mind, but should be.
In the uppermost tip of Manhattan, you’ll find Inwood Hill Park, a living piece of old New York. There’s a 2-mile hiking trail with fabulous views of the Hudson.
And if you head to Brooklyn’s Gerritsen Beach you’ll find the Salt Marsh Nature Trail. About a mile long, you’ll commune with egrets, herons and other birds. Get out there Tomatoes.
Nov. 9. Celebrate Young Filmmakers at the UN
Here’s a chance to have lunch at the United Nations and see the winners of this year’s Peace in the Streets Global Film Festival celebrating young filmmakers from 6 to 18 years old from around the world. You will be amazed and inspired. Get tickets.
