And you will love the interactive features and the hologram greeting from Carson and Mrs. Hughes is awesome.
It’s only there until April 2nd so hurry. And by the way, you can get discount tickets via Groupon and Goldstar.
March 14 – 29. Two Yiddish Classics at the New Yiddish Rep
The New Yiddish Rep brings modern treatments of the Yiddish classics and Yiddish interpretations of modern and post- modern masterpieces, in an intimate venue, at affordable prices, with easily readable supertitles. Their newest production is two plays by post-modern master Hanoch Levin. For the first time ever, The Labor of Life and The Whore from Ohio will be performed in repertory in Hebrew and Yiddish. In these two groundbreaking plays, Levin sculpts a dystopian vision of family and sexuality, exposing the layers of political corruption and social injustice that pervade our lives and putting them in stark comic relief. Tickets are just $25. 224 Waverly Place. Get the details.
March 22. Meet Barbara Hannah Grufferman
Head to Barnes & Noble at 86th Street (7PM) and meet author, journalist, and Huffington Post contributor Barbara Hannah Grufferman to discuss her new book, Love Your Age. Barbara wants to motivate women of all ages to take much better care of themselves by exercising, eating for good health and making an effort to value self-care. And that will be the focus of her keynote address at our April 28th Renewal Summit too.
Broadway Musical Revivals
OMG. How did we not know about Musicals Tonight, which has been reviving classic Broadway musicals, off-Broadway since 1998. We saw their most recent product of Anything Goes. We’re still humming all the great Cole Porter tunes.
The ladies’ costumes were to die for. Each one prettier than the next and all in the fashion of that era. The cast was perfect. We fell in love with them all especially Billy (Nick Walker Jones)who was the main character. And Meredith Inglesby who played Reno Sweeney really was the star of the show! Carlos Lopez was Moonface – a Danny DeVito type gangster and quite a good singer and dancer.
The tap dancing was heart stopping, and then they all sang 5 seconds after the most strenuous tap workout we have ever seen on stage! Made the Rockettes look like second stringers!!!!! We would see it again that’s how good it is!
Next up is Calamity Jane!! Get tickets now.
Check in every Saturday to get fun ideas on things to do in NYC from events to fundraisers, and lots of free things to do too NYC Events.
