Oct. 7. Strutt Your Mutt and Save the Lives of Other Mutts

Oct. 13-15. Karen Nason Hosts Fundraiser for Hurricane Victims

The most awesome Karen Nason who is running for Mayor of Hoboken, talks about why she is hosting 3 performances of Merciful Delusions: 4 One-Act Tennessee Williams Plays on Oct. 13, 14, 15 as fundraiser for the HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORT. Oct. 12-15. Art in Odd Places

NYC LIFE: Open House, Mutts, Girl Power, Truffles and MoreFor four days this month, 14th Street between the Hudson River and Avenue C will be transformed into a canvas for rather unexpected public art. Passersby will come upon installations, choreographies, workshops, classes, multimedia projects and more, presented by dozens of innovative artists and organizations. The mission of this unusual festival is to “stretch the boundaries of communication in the public realm” through art “outside the confines of traditional public space regulations.” Learn more.


Oct 13-14. The Other Funny Stiller

NYC LIFE: Open House, Mutts, Girl Power, Truffles and MoreYou are so going to want to catch Amy Stiller’s one woman show at Dixon Place. Daughter of Jerry Stiller and sister of Ben, her very funny show is a semi-autobiographical journey of a spiritually desperate woman, striving to emotionally survive as the only non-famous person in a very famous family. The show has gotten standing ovations in Nantucket and sold out in Westchester last week (also a standing ovation).  And, Amy will happily meet Tomatoes after her two evening shows. NYC LIFE: Open House, Mutts, Girl Power, Truffles and MoreOpen House New York Weekend unlocks the doors of New York’s most important buildings, offering an extraordinary opportunity to experience the city and meet the people who design, build, and preserve New York.  Here’s your chance to tour the Edgar Allan Poe Cottage at Fordham, where he penned some of his great poems.  Tour City Hall and its stunning rotunda with marble floors, and so many other extraordinary buildings.

From historical to contemporary, residential to industrial, hundreds of sites across the five boroughs are open to visit, with tours, talks, performances, and other special events taking place over the course of OHNY Weekend. Through the unparalleled access that it enables, OHNY Weekend deepens our understanding of the importance of architecture and urban design to foster a more vibrant civic life, and helps catalyze a citywide conversation about how to build a better New York.
