#PerformersSingForFans – Part 2

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Sandi Durell’s TheaterPizzazz.com continues to contact Broadway and Cabaret performers to help lift spirits for fans and everyone during Covid-19. And they have – by making a video singing a favorite song (some are a cappella, others are to a track). But the important thing is that they’re singing and sharing what they do best. Nothing like music for a great pick me up!

Karen Mason “Up On The Roof”

An extraordinary presence on any stage as an actor-singer…Broadway, Off Broadway and in cabaret. She’s a 13-time MAC Award Winner and received the 2019 MAC Lifetime Achievement Award.

On Broadway you’ve seen her in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, Wonderland, Mamma Mia! (Drama Desk Nom), Sunset Boulevard, Hairspray, Jerome Robbins Broadway, Carnival (Drama Desk Nom) and many more. She won the Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance in And The World Goes Round. She starred in her own show off-Broadway Karen Mason Sings Broadway, Beatles and Brian.

Adam B. Shapiro “Making Love Alone

The fun and funnier Adam B. Shapiro is an actor-singer currently appearing (before Covid-19) in Yiddish Fiddler as the Rabbi. He performs in both English and Yiddish and has been seen in The Normal Heart, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and in numerous shows in every cabaret room in New York City. In PerformersSingForFans, Adam offers up “Making Love Alone” (Bernadette Peters, Sam Harris, Marilyn Miller,Cheryl Hardwick).

Sharon McNight “Meantime”

You probably know Sharon McNight as a red hot mama singer-comedienne. You’ve seen her in clubs from east to west coast and she’s famous for her portrayal as the icon in “The Sophie Tucker Songbook.” She’s won numerous cabaret awards especially for Best Musical Comedy Show, “Ladies, Compose Yourselves.” She’s one versatile, tireless and first-rate vocalist!

Sharon is a Tony nominated actress for her role as Diva on Broadway in “Starmites” for which she also garnered a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut.
